I forgot to post the weight loss list - its not Monday any more so didn't want to post it, but I'm on an extra -2 this week, about time it started going down again :j

It's so hard to know how much milk to leave with the childminder - I left 13oz for 10.5hrs yesterday and she asked for more for today. I managed to get 17 oz total, after a miserable evening attached to the pump when I could have been sleeping...I just hope that's enough.

Anybody had problems with their medela getting milk in the tube? Happened to me just after a let down yesterday so I had to stop the pump, gutted. I just detached the tubing completely, blew in it to get as much milk out as poss, then out it on the pump with no bottle attached and pumped it for a few mins to try dry it out. It seemed ok and I could use it after that, but it happened again later in the day - is my tubing dead and need replacing or does anyone know if it's something else?

Well done on the weight loss! :T Feel free to post it as Monday's - people with small babies can't be too strict about these things! :)

Hope the cross examination wasn't too bad today.

As for milk, I know all babies are different, go through growth spurts etc. but just as an indication: my LO, who's a similar age to yours and on formula, has 5oz roughly every 3 hours, but if she's having a hungry day or has done a big poo, she'll demand it more often than every 3 hours - generally within two and a half hours of the last feed. She's also very hungry mid-morning for some reason and will demand milk within two and a half hours every day.

Can't help with the Medela issue I'm afraid, but hope you manage to get it sorted :(

    Hi all, lovely pic gilly!

Thanks for messages re George being under the weather - about 15 mins after I posted that I heard the cot rattling and went in to see him and he'd wriggled around so he was sideways across the cot, comforter grabbed in one hand, rucked up blanket in the other and a huge grin on his face. Someone feeling better I think! He's been all smiles today too. Still got green poop though, if it's the same by Monday I'm taking him to the docs.

Re expressing I've always found it easier first thing in the morning.

If anyone's interested Argos have a baby event on at the mo, I've not really looked at but fil just sent me the link

Hi, I have added my lil man to list but cannot get it to show properly.

Enjoyed catching up with the posts. This week going well so far having started local postnatal group yesterday and exercised my vocal chords at the nursery rhyme story time this morning. Defo no candidate for X factor but lots of fun!! Best bit was going for coffee and cake with 4 other mummies all who i'd just met.

  • Hello! My little man is 3 weeks tomorrow (finally written my birth story http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=55768465&postcount=237 ) and I was wondering if I could join the club!

I had lots to ask but will read back and try and remember it all. I'm breastfeeding and expressing to top up but currently having to use a nipple shield which I think is making us both lazy :/ Hes 3oz above birthweight and put on 7oz since last week so hopefully somethings working. His name is quite unique so you can see on newer facebook group :)

    We have a tooth!
Its been weeks of bright red cheeks, constant crying, waking up every two hours wanting boob, and finally a call to the NHS direct nurses to make sure I wasn't overdosing him with painkillers (I wasn't but I'm still glad I checked lol) then day before yesterday everything went quiet and I had the first solid 6 hours sleep I've had in months as he slept from 8pm to 5am. Yesterday was a little grizzly but not too bad (he slept 8pm to 3am which is still brilliant) and then this morning I put some teething gel on his gums and felt something sharp at the front on the bottom gum, sure enough I checked and we have a little white line of tooth.
    WOO-HOO!
    I'm disproportionately pleased :rotfl:

Student Mrs, congratulations and welcome - nice to see you over here!

Safesound, yay for tooth! My LO, who's exactly one month younger than yours, is dribbling all over the place and chewing Sophie to death, but so far no signs of discomfort (or a tooth for that matter!).

Hope everyone's having a good evening - it's quiet on here tonight x

  • Yay for tooth safe sound, also yay you got some decent sleep :j

Sammie today was awful. Their barrister said loads of stuff that wasn't true, and all I could do was say "no it wasn't" etc. the judge said nothing throughout. Then when it was my representatives turn, whenever she questioned them, the judge kept interrupting and saying "where's the evidence for that?" and if there wasn't a document already submitted then he stopped the questions.....but he allowed the other side to say various things they had no evidence for.

My boss lied, the oral evidence he gave contradicted his written statement ....when my representative pointed this out, the judge told her to "move on" with her questions and dismissed it. He then said that someone else got a job I didn't because of their experience, but I know that person well and he didnt have that experience....my rep challenged it but the judge dismissed it because that person later did a good job - erm I'm not disputing whether he did a good job or not, I'm saying that someone with significantly less experience got given an opportunity that I was denied....but the judge just dismissed that too.

Very frustrating - one rule for them and one for me...but I'm the one telling the truth :(

Turtle- My Medela did that too. Look down at the fluttervalve, there's probably stuff trapped behind it. When you unscrew the bottrle, look at the bottle head- the fluttervalve is the white rubber disc that sits on the yellow. All of the yellow will pull out and apart, just be gentle. Give inside it a good clean, and the same for the other end.

    Good luck for today.
