Oh Turtle sounds like a nightmare. Hope next week isn't too bad and you get what you're entitled to.

I wasn't asked to wait in the waiting room after the second set of jabs, I didn't even think until we were halfway home. I must admit when I was pregnant I used to think I'd never be able to bf in public, but now it really doesn't bother me. I was sat in the park one day recently feeding him, there was a bunch of mums with babies and a load of balloons. One of them came over and asked if I wanted to join them in a group breastfeed in public as it was world breastfeeding week. I politely declined and scarpered - I'm all for BFing and everything but I don't need to sit under a ton of balloons advertising what I'm doing!

Well done on the jumperoo triangle! You got a bargain!

You could explain discretion to him but I'm not sure how much he'd take in :rotfl:

You'd be surprised at how much they're able to take in from an early age. My brother regularly talks to my LO about Libya and Syria - she puts on a very serious-looking face and is clearly concerned about the state of affairs over there! :rotfl:

Sunshine they basically refused to pay because they think they can. This company bought out the company I worked for before, and my employment transferred over. Theres a very complicated bit of law called TUPE which protects your terms and conditions. My employer is refusing to recognise my protected rights under TUPE, because their standard contracts are SMP and my protected contract had an additional maternity pay clause. Unfortunately, we can't afford our basic bills (no extras!) on DH wage plus SMP, due to my perosnal loan repayments. If I had known they were going to be funny I'd have simply waited an extra 6 months before trying for a baby and just saved up enough to cover it. But they've been really underhand and nasty so I have had enough and thought they are not getting away with this any more!
  • Turtle - what a bunch of pr!cks!! Have heard a bit about TUPE as bits of our LA were tupe'd over to a partnership thing.

We struggle with OH wage and just my SMP atm until I go back to work so I can relate to that. Really hope you get what you are owed xxx

Re. dressing baby at night - I wouldn't worry about the 'rules' as long as he/she seems happy and not too hot or cold. Like Katie said, every baby's different. My LO is normally underdressed according to the 'rules', but she's generally quite warm and doesn't like being hot. I know it's harder when your LO's very young though - I used to check the temperature all the time and make sure she had the 'correct' amount of clothes and blankets. I've now learnt what works for her and that's what I stick to - like somone else said, I'm pretty sure they'd let you know if they're not happy!

Turtle, well done for standing up to those idiots! They're clearly trying to intimidate you, and I'm sure some people would have gone for the easy option and accepted their offer - good on you for perservering and good luck next week. Hope you manage to find another childminder.
