Katie, hope George starts sleeping better again soon. Our sleep regression seems to have lasted for exactly three very messy nights and LO's now back to her usual schedule of sleeping from 7.30pm to 7.30am with feeds at 1am and 5am, so here's hoping things improve for you too. Oh, and it's perfectly healthy to be excited about a new pram! :D

Gilly, enjoy your visit to the hairdresser - having my hair done always makes me feel so much better.

Turtle and Jannine, hope swimming went well today. We were supposed to start this Friday, but the pool still hasn't opened after the 4-year renovation, despite them announcing that it would be open 'in time for the olympics' and then 'end of August'. It's now 'end of September' - I'm crossing my fingers... :o

I went to my first postnatal exercise class this morning - I really enjoyed it and it made me feel really good :) Lots of squats, lunges and other core muscles/tummy stuff, which is just what I need. The babies were in their prams, on mats or on the big playmat, and the instructor's fab - whenever a baby cried, she'd just pick them up, move their pram a bit or pull some funny faces, all whilst still teaching the class and showing us what to do! It was also really friendly - I guess with all of us being mums with babies of a similar age we have something in common to chat about. I'll definitely be back next week.

    Hope everyone's having a good day x
  • Nutella that exercise class sounds great!

Katie fingers crossed sleep improves soon.

Swimming was BRILLIANT. he loved it, all smiles and looking around at everyone. The instructor was great, doing all sorts of moves etc. can't wait til next lesson, we will miss next week because of the tribunal :( but I'll make sure we go to the other 13 sessions as we both loved it.

Jannine how did yours go? Did you go for using a vest in the end?

  • Exercise class sounds good nutella! I might see if there's anything like that round my way, good that you can take bubs in.

I'm hoping this night waking is just a phase as I'm completely shattered today! I know it could be worse, at least he goes back to sleep pretty easily but not getting more than an hour or two at once is a killer.

Just put him down for a nap, after a few mins I heard him flailing around and went to check, he was busy wrestling with his comforter - had it right over his face! I took it off and he's got the biggest grin, just cracked me up, so much for being calm and quiet at nap time, I laughed at him and he laughed at me laughing at him!

  • Took me so long to write that post there are about 4 replies in between now!

Glad swimming was good turtle, did you have to dunk him right under that water? Bit scared of that, someone I spoke to recently said something about secondary drowning which worried me a bit.

Think I better rescue him from his comforter again. Silly baby!

Sammie yes it's a class, run at a council swimming pool, £61.50 for 15 sessions, which I though was quite good value.

Katie no dunking!!! In fact with everything we did, the instructors showed us how to keep the little ones faces out of the water. We did do "rain drops" where you just put your hand above their head so a couple of drops fall on their head/face, but the rest of the time they didn't put their faces in. I saw an older kids session where they did, but with the babies it was all very gentle.

That does seem good value for money turtlemoose.
We have a mother and baby swimming course at our local leusire centre, ds1 has swimming lessons tonight so I might enquire into times/prices.

Just cut the lawn and I feel like I'm going to melt!! Why does grass have to grow so quick!

Does anyone give their little ones yogurts like petits filous?

  • Hi all

Seren, we have changed from tommee tippee newborn ctn dummies to avent 0-6 and now avent 6-12, not sure what type they are though?

Sammie, Aiden has had natural yoghurt and plain fromage mixed with fruit. He loves it! X
