  • turtle - sorry to hear things are so difficult for you at the moment, i hope they work out.

re baby slings - tried on close caboo sling in kiddicare today, so funny trying it with their weighted baby which was really ugly lol will look into these others ones mei-tai etc
i have got a carrier for when he is older that my sis gave me. this one will be for carrying him round in the house a bit and DH to carry when we are out shopping etc

didnt realise breastmilk had sleepy hormones in it at night, it explains why niall goes to sleep so easily after nighttime feeds! i am breastfeeding with a sheild because of poor latch, saw the breastfeeding midwife yesterday who says he is strugging to breastfeed straight on breast due to short tongue and lower lip tends to fall in. she says he may be able to do it when he gets a bit older.

i have told DH i will breastfeed till 6 months but will probably continue longer then this.

i havent had much support with breastfeeding from family, only my sister has been supportive as she breastfeed both of her boys. i have a medela and plan to express from 6 weeks which will allow DH to feed when i am seeing nutritional therapy clients, a consultation takes an hour and a half so dont want a screaming baby in the house when i am seeing clients in the office.

DH has just put niall in his olympics top which MIL brought him and some blue joggers, he looks great :)

Have you had him checked for tongue tie? Freddie had a tongue tie which is thankfully all sorted now but a couple of midwives and the paediatrician in the hospital all said he was fine. It was only because I was adamant that we got it resolved. Some ties aren't obvious, particularly posterior ones but they can still affect feeding. I would have thought that the most common reason for a short tongue is a tongue tie.

....Where are you all today?... :o Hope you're enjoying your Saturdays! Turtle, been thinking of you - hope you are OK.

I've had a productive day - done two loads of laundry, cleaned and hoovered the whole flat, been to the garden centre and to the charity shop (to drop off stuff - I didn't buy anything!) and changed the bed sheets. My life's so exciting, isn't it? :)

I still haven't stopped nesting! I did lots of stuff around the house whilst pregnant, and OH did the bigger jobs like painting, but now that LO's here, I'm STILL on a DIY mission :o Just had the front garden done, it was an overgrown and neglected mess, we now have paving which is so much better for peace of mind (albeit not for the environment, I know...) - and to make it a bit greener I spent £163 on pots and plants at the garden centre today! Next up is decluttering the bedroom - my wardrobe and the underbed storage boxes contain a mish mash of maternity stuff and clothes that don't fit - have already taken two big bags of stuff to the charity shop. And finally - the nursery! Have started decluttering what's currently the study, which will be LO's room in a couple of months' time :)

Anyway, enough rambling - hope everyone's well and enjoying their weekends x

Turtle - Thinking of you today, I hope things have settled down one way or another.

Jake has been doing brilliantly the last few days as DH has been off work for the last week (and next week YAY!) so he's getting lots of extra stimulus. He's "talking" quite a bit now and will sometimes say hello and if he's upset he will say umumumum (which is heartbreaking and really great at the same time). He's just zooming around in his walker, he loves being able to go where he wants but he keeps trying to go out the back door, luckily it has a lip so he cant get his walker out.

I dont know if these pictures will show up as they are from facebook but I'll give it a go. :D

Hello all, I've been a bit awol, been super busy, and now I'm doing Slimming World I feel like all I do is cook, cook for me, cook for Aaron, feed me, feed Aaron. Tedious!

We have been getting mumumumumumum muuuuuum here the past few days, it is adorable :o he's started coming towards me when saying it too, so both me and OH have agreed it's his first word. As before he'd say the occasional DaDa but wouldn't repeat.

Done 4 miles this morning, was supposed to be going to a food market but we had a bit of a barny and I went out in a huff, motivated me to do the extra though. I'm thinking I should probably buy some proper running trainers, not a clue in that department though? Hmmm.

    Jake is very cute safesound

This was my munchkin today after grabbing something off my plate at lunch  Sorry if it ends up massive x

Thanks Sunshine, looks can be deceiving, he's getting cheekier by the day, my OH calls it curious...

Using jars is so expensive, and it's so easy to make up a sauce of anything.

For curry I tend to use, chopped tomatoes, garlic, chilli (both the Very Lazy type that come in jars and keep in the fridge for 12 weeks) curry powder and onions. So easy :) and really really tasty.

Bolognese I use chopped tomatoes, garlic, onions and mixed herbs (oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme and sage) but you can buy it all mixed together in a little jar. 1 teaspoon of sugar too and it takes the bitter-ness off :)

Ta hun :) I can make them but I have just been lazy lately lol :o

Seen some nice risotto recipes and am going to make some big batches of things to freeze me thinks!!

Aaron looks toooo sweet, Aiden is getting a bit cheeky though - and fussy, in town today he decided he didnt want to go back in the pram so oh carried him!!! Think he has him wrapped around his little finger!
