I've left him with oh once or twice to nip to the supermarket which wasn't too bad, I think mainly because then I was in control of when I went back to him. Today they said a couple of hours so by the time two hours was up I was ready to have him back but it was actually more than three. And today it's so hot so I worried about that too. But he's home now, and completely fine. And I only phoned them once to check how he was doing ;Newborn thread member

Congrats Lirin how exciting! She's going to be getting in to all sorts of trouble in no time
Just in case anyone else ever needs one, i finally found a fridge thermometer in an independent electrical shop (£4.99). So I'll be digging out the pump tonight, first time expressing since I was in hospital, not too keen on doing it. I like (love!!) the idea of a little break, but if I'm honest even the thought of using the pump brings back memories of the hospital, which is distressing to say the least. I don't feel OH will understand as while obviously he knew we were in hospital, he didn't have to endure the 24hr a day hell of the tests, and wondering if every time a doctor walked in if it would be bad news or not etc....a time I would rather wipe from my memory if I could! So we'll see how it goes.
Hope everyone has managed to find a cool spot at some point today!!0 -
For those with wrist pain - I've been reading up on it and it's so common in new mothers it even has a name! Interesting articles here: http://health.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474977187215 and www.nytimes.com/2004/06/06/health/fitness-when-mothering-is-a-pain-in-the-wrist.html?src=pm. My pain's getting worse and worse - this morning I couldn't open a jam jar, so think I'd better book a doctor's appointment...0

Morning all, hope you got some sleep in the heat
As of this coming Monday (after scoffing the rest of the chocolate in the house over the weekend...) I'm officially on a diet. I'm tired of feeling fat and not fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes! I've written a food shopping list and e-mailed the lady who runs postnatal exercise classes near me. Goal is to lose 10 kg by Christmas and then treat myself to lovely new clothes in January to benefit from the sales and look half-decent when I go back to work in February. If anyone wants to join me for mutual support and telling-off, let me know - we could maybe do a weekly weigh-in and share what we've lost (or gained if it's been a bad week) - perhaps via PM so this doesn't turn into a weight loss thread
Hope everyone's well - have a good day x
Ooo, I'll join you in that! I'd also like to lose 10kg! xDFD February 2012

Go to your docs, I went last week and they gave me painkillers, some gel to rub on and a strap thing. Apparently if its very bad they give you physio!!
Some good news, my ohs employer has agreed to do childcare vouchers so we can both claim them. Should save us £140 per month, every little helps! xLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Yay - another diet buddy! :jTo be honest I'd like to lose more than 10kg, but I think I need to be realistic about chocolate consumption and time for exercise with a small baby... I'm hoping I can keep going past the 10kg mark though, but first things first. I'm eating a tub of raspberries at the moment - sounds very healthy, except I ate a mountain of chocolate just before that...Come Monday, it's all change!

:T for childcare vouchers!
Will definitely call my GP tomorrow and see if I can get an appointment for Monday. Might try an osteopath as well (left shoulder also hurts), as it's free on the health insurance we have through OH's work. I went regularly during the last few months of pregnancy and I'm convinced it saved my back and hips0 -

Right, weigh in every Monday night? Once back at work, I won't get as much time on here, especially whilst the Olympics are on, but will definitely come on each Monday to give my loss/gain. Hopefully loss!!!!! xDFD February 2012
