Erin hates THE heat! None of us are sleeping with it and she was well-grotty demon child this morning... has had a wonderfully long nap since she got back from the doctors and is back to being her lovely smiley self.

The more experienced doc checked her hernia - is quite happy with it, since it's larger it's less likely to get stuck out apparently - was mainly just an exercise in getting it on file for future comparison if it doesn't resolve.

Daddy yet again has dodged a poo day (she's very predictable twice a week)... jammy git - there was enough of it to replaster a house in there!

Twice a week? Madness! Freddie's a twice an hour man! His favourite game is the 'shit in a clean nappy' game. Without fail, if his nappy's not dirty when you change it, he'll take a dump in the new one within minutes. Alternatively he shits all over your hand whilst you're changing him. They didn't mention that in the antenatal classes.

Fluff you think poop on hand is bad? I was sitting cross legged on the floor changing Reuben when he tensed and squeezed a jet of poo out, due to the force it was actually airborne and missed the changing mat....instead going UP THE LEG OF MY SHORTS

    :rotfl::rotfl:Poo stories!!!

Aiden is quite fond of just doing half a poo and carrying on whilst you are changing him, once in a restaurant which had no baby change facility so I was changing him in the ladies loo, on a muslin, and cue a big fountain of poo mid change, I was hoping and praying no one came in as it was just a pile of poo and wipes on the floor...luckily they didnt. :) x

Ha that was me too, loved it! Was great until the last few minutes when the doctor got involved, dread to think how bad it would have been without the epidural!

Same here Katie, I thought my epidural had worn off by the time it came to ventouse, cutting etc - but I don't think it had so it must have been horrific without the epi!

    Hi all !

I suppose I got off lightly so far with Scott's early days efforts of treating the bedroom wall as a urinal... :0

We are currently weaning so I suppose the poop situation could deteriorate somewhat...

Love reading all the labour stories! Scared myself silly watching OBEM and wouldn't dare watch it now!

Well that's the boiler packed in, had Scotland gas networks round declaring it unsafe so had to phone Scottish gas and say that I had 2 babies so we need heating and hot water. The chap was asking how old they were in months and seemed a bit shocked when I said 12 days! Hopefully we can get something fixed but waiting on the next thing packing in seeing as it happens in 3's...

Did you all use your bounty pack coupons? I went crazy with my vouchers at boots today :-) x

... I am indeed, so my nursery/childminder checklist grows :)

Don't know if you have any ideas on what kind of washable nappy you want to use, but worth bearing in mind that nurseries/childminders are more likely to be willing/convincible if you go for an all in one type, rather than a two parter, just as they are much less complicated. Something like the Bumgenius that i use, or tots bots easyfit. My nursery agreed to use the BG's when i showed them how straightforward they are- just like using a disposable.

Epidural - can also highly recommend!! Unfortunately for me, I only got it at 10cm!! For about an hour and a half, they kept saying she's coming she's coming. But she only came at the very end, and I had to lie and say I didn't have the urge to push (when I really did)coz there was noooooooo way on this earth was I having a baby come through without an epidural!!!

They gave me all the crap that you've come this far bla bla bla, I just burst into tears and said I really really wanted it, then hubby spoke up and demanded I get it lol. Poor thing, for that hour and a half, after each contraction, I thought I was going to die and couldn't do it anymore, and was begging him to make it end, actually looking into his eyes, shouting and begging for him to make the pain stop. Shame, he really was my rock in there!!

I was only allowed gas and air at 4cm.........how about everyone else?

I was in this little room all by myself. Hubby had been sent home as it was night, and they said it might only happen tomorrow (had been induced). She had a feel, and I was 1cm a little later. The pain started coming, I asked for gas and air, she said no. Gave me pethidine, which just made me feel drugged, no pain relief! Within 2 hours, I was in so much pain, not even sure if it was labour as i didn't realise it was all in the back. I was so scared, never pictured labour being like this, crying and alone in a little room with no support, and in absolute agony, and she finally said do you want to call your husband to come back (earlier when I said I needed him she said no!!!), so I called him. He drove back, came in the room, took 1 look at me, and knew I wasn't coping. They did another feel, and I was 4cm, so they let me on the gas and air finally. But to be honest, it didn't do anything for the pain. Within an hour I was 10cm.

I remember the epidural going in, I didn't feel it at all, but it was mid contraction, I started screaming, and it just faded away, just like that, like magic. You cannot put the relief into words. Both physically and emotionally. Coz I just wasn't coping.
Then they said I could rest for an hour (thank god, I was so dazed and confused by everything), and within 2 minutes of saying that, his heart rated dropped, and he had to come out right then. So pushing started immediately. That was the easy part for me. I wasn't thinking straight, was in shock after everything, but felt no pain, nothing :D

But apparently when you're induced, labour can be just that - short but aggressive.

Oh dear, that was a novel and a half hey!!!!! At least i can think of that day now without crying. A goal itself which I'm sure many of you understand :) x

Ooh Noah does the same, I usually get a clean nappy under him then he finishes he poo!!
Been busy packing today and I'm so hot! Going to get in the shower in a min and go to bed!!
We have to be out of the house by 4.30am!! Hopefully I can change Noah's bum, feed him then I'm hoping he will sleep until we get to Gatwick. We are about an hour and a half away from Gatwick so not to bad.
