Morning all. Went back to Next yesterday when my OH finished work  got some things for him and me. :) Picked up another Xmas present from Argos too. I'm super excited about it this year, normally I hate it with a passion, but can't wait for Santa :)

House cleaning today for me, OH is off and is on child entertaining duty :D xx

    Fell back asleep earlier!!

It's Noah's first time swimming today :D we are all off to Spain in a couple of weeks, we have got a villa with a private pool so I'm hoping to get him really used to swimming and continue to take him once a week when we get home.

Ro - ohh how exciting I hope your little man enjoys his food. :)
Are you planning in making your own pur!e? I bought a blender the other day to try for when we start here!! Xxx

Hello all, we're back from Brighton now, had a lovely time and G was a little star in the hotel, only one little cry when I had to change him in the night. Don't know what's happened to that angel baby as this morning he's turned into a screaming monster :(. I've given in and have him dozing on my knee as he was going batty every time we put him in his cot. What do you ladies do when LO just won't settle for a nap? Just let him sleep on your knee or persevere with the cot?

Hope everyone's doing ok, will try and catch up on what I've missed.

    Hello !!

Glad you had a good holiday Katiechoc! I usually have him sleep on a pillow next to me on the sofa, I transfer to pram, if he won't sleep in pram keep him on pillow.

Sammie am jealous of your villa hol planned !!!
    Hope u enjoy swimming !

Gilly - :D shopaholic lol glad you got some goodies !!!

Done day 1 of weaning bought organix whole grain baby rice mixed it with his warm milk and.... He liked it lol ! Only gave him a very small amount to start with 2-3 tsps a tiny bit at a time, he knew what the spoon was for lol !

Going to use mebby baby chef for pur!es etc can steam, whizz, defrost, warm up etc

It's all a bit daunting though ! Reading Amanda ursell weaning book

Also baby signing book came ... Not sure about the potty sign lol

    Toilet/potty
Closed hand with middle finger extended, moves side to side on chest.....
For potty precede sign by making shape of a potty with both hands....

I guess the signs were invented before the middle finger was a bit rude.

    Milk is easy it's..

I'm here - still rowing with hubby a lot (mainly over the hospital things to do with the baby's birth - things are THAT bad about it all) - thankfully found a dog kennel that wasn't an utter hellhole at least to resolve that particular issue.

Had to smirk yesterday - went to Mothercare, only to find the store unit next door to 'em's been let... to Kiddicare... who've proceeded to put banners over the windows while they fit it out - including one that looks over into Mothercare's window plugging to apply for jobs there - how's that for a big sign to the Mothercare staff - "hi you're about to get absolutely hammered in trade and probably close when we open - come and work here!" Still nice to know where their site is gonna be in Notts at least.

Baby went into her cot last night as she's getting a bit chunky for the moses - not the smoothest night's sleep since putting dummies back in is a pain in the rear - so I've taken one side off the cot, pushed it right up against the bed and secured it there as a co-sleeping sidecar for tonight - which she seems to like... strike me down with bolts of lightning since not only do our PCT view co-sleeping as evil on a level with eating babies... but they actually shout at mothers on the maternity wards if they nod off holding babies about how evil ever being in the same bed as your baby is!

Back from swimming and we all had a great time. Noah sat in his seat and was smiling constantly!!
Going to start dinner in a moment. Hope everyone has had a good day. Xx

Dizzi, hope things improve with hubby, but glad you found a kennel! Our LO is about to move from basket to cot bed, and we're planning to take one side off and create a co-sleeping sidecar (love that term!) too. Am hoping it'll fix the daytime naps, and that it'll therefore give me the chance to nap too as she won't be on my lap... I bet some of those people at your maternity ward don't have children themselves - how can giving your baby cuddles and making them feel safe and secure ever be evil?... Do what you know is best for you and your LO.
