It may help the milk stay down, I know of quite a few reflux-ers that has helped, something to do with the milk thickening in tummies, if not then carobel pretty much does the same thing but it's more of a faff, with making feeds, then adding it to them, then allowing them to sit for 3-4 minutes before feeding.

Maybe mention it and see what they say, we got our SMA Staydown on prescription, so they may do the same for you or give you Enfamil A.R which is just the same stuff under a different name basically. Hope you get something to work :) x

Thanks. Doglover replied to my PM and the symptoms she has listed seem to be what Aiden has :( he has hiccups a lot and doesnt seem to settle after his feeds really. Agreed with OH that I'm gonna take him to the GP tomorow morning, I'm really going to push that there is just an inkling in my mind that something isnt right.

Hopefully they can atleast advise on it, if they say to go and get the staydown milk - I'll do that. I feel sorry for him and I wish there was something I could do to help him :(

I'll let you know how I get on, my GP is open surgery so we should definately be seen tomorow.

    xx

That's great :) Doglover really helped me out :) so I'm glad you've spoken to her. If you need anything I'm only a PM away and I Know how hard it is. I didn't have the sickness but I had constant screaming! xx

Thanks :) feel a bit down as my sisters LO had a reflux - he was sick continually until his next feed and because Aiden isnt doing that she thinks I am over reacting. I know I am not though, just because he isnt constantly sick doesnt mean he hasnt got it :( and she doesnt see him every day when he is teary etc.

Fingers crossed the GP can help xx

It will get you down, it got me really down. Focus on the good times when Aiden is happy and content. It does get better and I know how I felt when people used to say that to me, I wanted to punch them in the face and now here I am saying it to someone else, but believe me. We couldn't leave the house or go anywhere because of my LO's screaming. He just screamed with the acid 24/7 or it felt like it. Now we can go for lunch, feed him in public it's great :) so you will get there too.

I took it even harder as breast feeding wouldn't take with Aaron and I was having to express all my milk for him, and then to find out that breast milk would probably have made his reflux worse as it's thinner, knocked me for six.

Do what you can to get through each day, it's how I managed and know there is light at the end of the tunnel. You are never over reacting with your own child and don't let the GP make you feel that way, be assertive and confident. Good Luck xx

Ditto Mozzy, I am due back in July when Lo is 6mo. Its so hard to think about isnt it! Looking forward to Tuesday. Going to try my snooze shade out, see if it helps LO nap on the walk like it did today.

Me too! Was reading on fb about your snooze shade. Hope it works! Oh, Lucy cant join us - dentist - but will definitely the next week x

Morning. Been awol, sorry Ro! Busy weekend as my best friend was visiting with her 5 week old. Really made my baby seem grown up at 11 weeks, there is so much more she is doing. Plus, it was like picking up a feather holding a 7lb something babe instead of a 10lb plus one!

Hmm, just heard wet farty noises from baby. Will be back after checking bum!

I'm actually enjoying being back at work more than I thought, it's really quite nice to get some time to myself and to think about something other than nappies :) Expressing is still a nuisance though, so if there's another one in the future, I'd probably stay off work for 4 months or so instead of two.

Last night was a bit better, Elliot did 2 1/2 hour stretches of sleep. Still nowhere near the 6 hours he was doing last week, but at least I feel a bit more human today having had a reasonable nights sleep. Woke up late, 8am, had mad panic dashing round to get ready for work on time. Fed Elliot just before I left, when he did a loud squelch sound... handed him over to DH saying 'your nappy'. Elliot promptly threw up all over DH - his jumper, trousers and a slipper all managed to get vomited on. I was very bad and just ran out the door laughing.

Right, nappy and clothes changed, where was I...

We are doing well generally, sleeping is good which is great. Only problem with LO is green poos. I've spoken to Dr, HV and bf counsellor about it as well over a week now. Felt rather fobbed off by the Dr and HV although they did at least reassure me that if she was herself and had no temperature or diarrhoea then it wasn't a crisis.

I talked through all the options with the bf lady, that was more helpful, and it does seem to be getting better. I knew though that I wasn't swapping her too often so she'd only be getting fore milk, and that I hadn't changed my diet. Seems to be that either she has been working through some infection (and I've had a cold that she hasn't) or she might not like something in my diet all of a sudden and the most likely thing is dairy so may have to cut back.

There is an improvement, getting light green/yellowish now and less often, rather than dark spinach green almost every other nappy. However, I'm not sure how well she has been doing over the weekend as DH did most of the dirty nappies (not entirely by my arrangement!) and told me they were mustard but the one I have just done was not. I have a horrible feeling that this is one case where his colourblindness, which does affect his perception of greens, is causing an issue.

Sorry, that's probably TMI about poo! I guess it makes a bit of a change from the discussions about reflux. I really hope you get that sorted Sunshine, and good that Gilly has so much useful advice for you. Shame that any of the LOs suffer from it though. Anything they do or don't do right seems to just make us mummies worry.
