Nerves about the change from 2 to 3 sounds normal to me happydays77. Are you worried about anything in particular?

I was worried about what sort of father my DH would be and how much/little he would help out. Can't do anything about what type of dad he is (more hands on than I thought he'd be thankfully) but we did discuss what we thought our roles would be and how we wanted to raise our little one. DH ended up doing all the household chores for a fair while!

Our lives resolved around DS for the first few months as we got used to having him and settled down again into a routine. I don't feel like our relationship has changed much. I just asked DH if he thinks we've changed as a couple since DS arrived and he doesn't think we have either. We have less of a social life!

Happy days - I have only my baby so can't speak from experience. Other than pregnancy makes u worry !! I would guess that your Ds will be excited when LO is here and these worries will be a distant memory. Yes it will be an adjustment for both of u but u can do it!! I would try And involve LO in decisions for baby things and plan nice things for ds too xxx

Happy, i'm in a similar situation, having lived alone with my teen since they were one. It's not been a problem, it was just accepted, they adore little brother and understand that he's a lot of work. I think it's easier when they're older. From what i've read on the pregnancy thread, your son is really excited about the baby, so that's a good start. :)

Thank you for your replies. Maybe i am worrying unnecessarily and my DS is excited about being a brother but I'm conscious the reality isn't always the same. I guess I'm just worried how I'll split my time and not make him feel any less special cos nothing will ever break the bond we have built up. I suppose things will just be different.

Lol Ro, I hope Scott has taken the hint for you! We've had a very restless night here, Amelia has got a bunged up nose so isn't sleeping well. I got some saline nasal spray the other day which seems to help temporarily but she's not a happy girl!

  • Hello new people!!
Little mister has just slept nearly 6 hours :D and is now all fed and dry and back in his basket in just under 30 mins!! :D.

Kimberly only in the past week have we turned a corner with the breastfeeding and constant latching...it is hard when you feel like you cant do anything and are constantly feeding (cue numerous bouts of tears!) but in the end I'm taking it as a good excuse to sit and watch tv!! Same goes for the not sleeping much...there is defo light at the end of the tunnel I think it just clicks for them at different points!!

Ro Hope you're not still on nightwatch!! (Can we call it that now we're not actually watching for anything??:rotfl:)

4nnabella Hope Amelia feels better soon!!

Happy I think its perfectly natural you feel a bit apprehensive about it all, but you sound like you have a very mature young man and he will be a fab big bro. Hope its not too long before you join us over here!! :)

Sure Ive missed out loadsa people, but its 6am brain defo not in gear!!:rotfl:

That was a really bad night for me :( Elliot's been pretty good for the last couple of weeks, just waking once, but he was clusterfeeding a lot during the day yesterday and carried on through the night. Think I got about 4 hours sleep at most. I started back on contraception on Friday - Cerazette mini pill - and while it's not supposed to affect milk supply I am wondering if it's had an effect.
