Ah, there's a few white horses around!! I lived in Oxford for a few years but grew up over this way and moved back about 5 years ago. Good thing too else I might never have got together with DH and had the LO!

Going to try and get her ready and go to 'bumps and babies' shortly. Don't seem to be doing much mum and baby stuff yet so going to give it a try.

Its the uffington one that's a few miles away. I worked in Oxford before giving up work but don't live there! It was obviously meant to be, moving back home!

    Enjoy bumps and babes!
I have not done any groups yet should really make an effort at some point.

Ro - Scott is gorgeous :D

I was planning on going to a playgroup this morning but it is 9.30 - 11.30 and Amelia has been asleep since 9 and I didn't really want to wake her. We've had a tough couple of sleepless nights, although last night was better, so thought I should let her sleep. Seeing as she's actually asleep in her moses basket too, after an epic struggle to get her to sleep somewhere other than on me!

    Morning ladies.

I have a baby due in June (No. 1) and I know I'm jumping ahead here but I've got a question about formula that I'm getting obsessed with! I have every faith that you guys will know the answer.

I fully intend to BF. Say I stop around weaning at about six months, all the recommendation is that you move to a follow-on milk rather than normal cow's milk.

Why is this? Formula's made from cow's milk isn't it, so I'm guessing it's not an allergy thing. Is it because it contains supplements? If this is the only reason, does the baby really need these supplements if it's eating a varied diet?

The follow on milk contains more iron as babys iron reserves they build up before birth are depleted by 6 months, and it can be hard to get enough iron into them at the weaning stage. We did BLW (I'd highly recommend it BTW) and it was a while before squeaks food provided more nutrition than her milk :)

    Hope that helps!

    It will definitely be baby-led. Because I haven't got a clue! :D
