Yay for you Mozzy. Glad you got some sleep. It makes everything seem easier doesnt it!
I found swaddles worked really well when LO was newborn, and she loves her sleeping bags, but unfortunately we cant use them right now, as the reflux wedge sling has a bit that needs to fasten between her legs.
Lots of Poonami's going on right now! Cant believe Crabapple, that your LO had a Poonami right after CJ.
Morning all.
Just downloading the relax and sleep app now Mozzy. Thanks for tip x
Amelie hates being swaddled as she likes to try and suck her fingers, not found her thumbs yet LOL.
Loos like we are getting into a little routine now,and she seems to sttle better in her basket now:T
MW coming later so will be interested to see how much she weighs now.
Had HV yesterday...is anyone else overwelmed with info re check ups, baby clinics etc or is it just me? Its just so hard to take in anything anyone says at the mo.
Dreading hubby going back to work on monday:(:happyloveBaby girl born 27/2/12:happylove

Happy Days, Re: Catheters - i had mine in a little longer than Gilly- it went in about 10pm thursday with the epidural, LO arrived 8am Friday, and the catheter came out about 4pm Saturday.
I think mine stayed in a while because i lost a fair bit of blood and they didnt want me up and wandering around to the loos and fainting!
As i said, i actually found it quite helpful, as i didnt have to get up to go to the loo and walking was pretty uncomfortable and the loos a bit of a walk, and i didnt have the raw ouchie of pee on my stitches.
I was put off an epidural because of the idea of the catheter, but really, it was the least of my worries by the time i decided on an epi!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Lucy, its not just you. When my HV came, she was just handing me leaflet after leaflet, booklet, pamphlet, paper, and i remember just sitting there nodding at her. Give it a few days and it will all slowly work its way through!Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

I had a catheter as I'd been put on a drip to get the placenta out, the catheter then stayed in for about 24 hours as I was too wobbly to get to the loo until they sorted me out with a transfusion. Hadn't had an epidural and while it felt odd and a bit uncomfortable going in, it didn't hurt.0

Morning all. Had a pretty good night and a lie in so feeling quite good. No screaming so far today either - she waited patiently for current feed!
Happydays - I had a catheter put in after delivery as they gave me a spinal to stitch me up. Went in 6/7 am and came out that evening when I asked, they just wanted to make sure I had my legs fully under control first!
Lirin, hope you feel better soon.
First HV meeting they flung leaflets at me, don't think I read most of them. The important info is basically their telephone number and clinic times so you can get in touch if you need them. And you need to speak to your GP surgery to get the baby registered with them and they can tell you when they need to see you - first around 6-8 weeks.
DH is off work today and Monday. Thought about a nice walk today but it is very grey outside and we've already had some rain:(:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Because I REALLY didnt want an epidural I hadnt read up on them, was totally oblivious. After 36 hours though I couldnt take it much more
didnt know aboit cathaters or anything.
Agree with Kira though, ideal not going to the toilet! Because I had a fluid drip in too when i actually had to go to the toilet it wasnt stingy at all because I was so hydrated. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Hello all
Lucy - still haven't read half of leaflets I was given by hv, the only think I did want was the thick nhs book 0-5 which was out if stock so they gave me a link  (like the purple book for pregnancy but for when they are born to five I think)
Re catheter- I had an epidural think about 9am, they took wee out (or tried to lol) with a tube thingy (think still called a catheter not sure) inserted into u know where a couple of times (they put me on a drip as I was very dehydrated due to length of labour etc) but no catheter was left in at all, I had Scott at 1:25pm and was left for about five hours in the labour suite and was told someone would help me shower, they just helped me up to my feet but was very wobbly! I don't know if they did not put a normal catheter in because of weight or because I was nearing end of labour.0 -
I had a catheter (had an emergency c section) and oh my gosh it was the most wonderful thing in the world! I had mine in for about 2 days I think, but that was because I was kept in the labour suite the day he was born and the day after, under close obs because of my blood pressure (had severe pre eclampsia) and the next day was moved to the ward. After all those nights of interrupted sleep because of needing a wee, it was bliss not to have to get up and go!
I can't remember if I posted yesterday, but I bought Harry a new buggy to replace his mamoth tank of one. It folds up with one hand (and foot) and fits in my car in one piece, as opposed to the pram, which I have to take apart and even take the wheels off to fit it in my carCan't wait to use it. Harry's a bit small for it at the moment though, it says from birth to 15kg but because Harry was prem, the straps are a little loose and I'd rather be safe than sorry!

Thank you ladies for all your comments about catheters. I guess it's pretty much standard practice so I'll give it some thought now. Suppose like most of you have said, when you are in the throws of labour I probably won't give a monkeys about whatever they want to do to me.
