Had 6 week check this morning, feeling very shocked and upset so just venting on here.
Gp says Scott has a slight heart murmur, told us not to worry but need to be referred to paed for checks. As you can imagine very difficult not to worry, don't know how long for appt for trace could be few weeks Gp did not know. :(
Everything else ok with him. Just don't want him to have any problems but can see we are going to stress no matter what...

Hope op goes well for Ellie x

    Hi Ro

Sorry to hear you've had a shock, I know after my time in the hospital that heart murmurs are very common in babies and the Doctor saying its only slight is a good sign. Poppy has a murmur which is classed as a number 4 which is quite loud (number 1 is the quietest, number 6 the loudest) My husband also has a heart murmur as does my 3 dogs, they don't require any treatment or cause any problems. If the Doc was really worried he would have sent you straight to the hospital.

I hope your not waiting to long for your app and you get good news.
    xx

Gp just listened to his heart as part of the routine 6 week check and both me and LO had our 6 week checks together which seems more sensible. Was glad had hubby with me though as he could look after LO. Presumably yo have your lo's 6 week check already booked.

We have a longwinded system here, where you get given a 6 week appointment by the health visitors for baby, then you have to book your own one. Then when you go to baby's, you find it is only the health visitors, and you have to book another yourself at 8 weeks with the doc. Which they put together with the immunisations, and you can't book the doc without an appointment for the nurse as well. Even though the doctor said we might leave his a bit longer, I had to have the appointment to get them done.

Pigpen. Can't believe how blue Dots eyes are. Her and Squeak are beautiful.

Oh, and i have a question. Do you have to see a health visitor? The reason that i ask, is that we've made 2 appointments now to see ours, the first time she said she'd be round at 10, and the other time she said 'sometime in the morning'.
Both times we've waited in all day for her, and neither time has she turned up. It wouldnt matter, but the only day she does visits is wednesdays, and thats OH's day off, so it seems a waste to stay in all day and wait for her for nothing.
We have a baby clinic to take Alex to anyway. x

    Thank you

No you don't HAVE to see a HV.

If someone had missed an appoitnemtn and not let me know I would have rang the office to find out why.

They refused to give her anything unless she was sick 20 times a day.. she wasn't sick 20 times a day because there was nothing to sick up! She couldn't even manage water some days.. I offered to go with her to kick the GP's backside.. but she wouldn't let me.. she is just enjoying being a martyr I think

    Hi Ladies,

Feeling a bit down tonight. Its my own fault I was just reading all the pregnancy threads (mainly because I'm nosey!) and I always upset myself reading about other ladies being pregnant. I feel like I was 'robbed' of most of my pregnancy (silly I know) but I was actually looking forward to getting a big tum, and I loved to sit and stroke my bump. I know its crazy to think like this as I have a gorgeous daughter in her moses basket right next to me but you can't help how you feel. I told my husband who said I should be grateful that I missed out on feeling huge and getting swollen ankles etc, but I still feel I missed out.

Hubby has just gone to Asda so think I will txt him to bring me some treats home to cheer myself up.

We are off for our first special care baby meeting tomorrow morning, they are held monthly for parents of babies that have been in Special Care - looking forward to catching up with some mummies and daddies and of course Poppy's little friends!
    xx
