Dont know if it will help. but when i told our HV that CJ couldnt/wouldnt drink from a bottle, she suggested trying her with a doidy cup, and that despite the fact that they are technically for weaning age babies, many younger breastfed babies get on alot better with it than bottles, as it uses a similar mouth action. Maybe worth a shot? They are only a few pounds on Amazon.

Thanks Kira, will have a look at them tomorrow, anything is worth a shot to make life a bit easier!

You can tell from the picture she is not a newborn Jannine, so alert and her eyes are wide open to the world. :happyhear

    She is a gorgeous girl!

Yes!! I am giving him gaviscon at every feed (despite being told max of 6 a day by the GP)
He doesn't ever finish his feeds so I figure it's okay (plus the feeds without are horrendous) and 0.5ml of raniditine 3 times a day.
I am also swaddling him at night and it really seems to be helping. We only had one feed between 12.30 and 9am last night/this morning.

We've been referred to the pead at the hospital, and should get an appointment in within 2 weeks :)

That is brilliant news!! :D Glad your part of the country seems to work quicker than here. :) Hope you are managing to sleep when he is.

Although according to the instructions (which I've only just read after 3 nights) you've not to swaddle for more than 6 hours a time?!? Bit crap.

I know I'm pretty shocked how fast they're moving with things, but now we've got the pead referral I don't even know if we'l need it, but we'l go anyway.

Probably should't admit this here but when it comes to babies and children I view instructions as a guide only. Instead I tend to go with whatever makes them happy except when I can see why it may be dangerous. :o The exception to this being my younger son who would only sleep face down with a blanket wrapped around his head! :rotfl:

I hope your house is better than mine and you have all been well?

I have been really busy with appointments and the hovel and sorting out my daughter who is nearly 26 weeks pregnant and STILL being sick constantly..

Pigpen Funny you should mention that actually, we were discussing today just going to the register office sometime soon. Anyone know costs involved etc?

LOL.. I think mine was about £45 but that was 18 years ago so it *might* have gone up lol.

I'd sneak off and have a 'just us' ceremony somewhere pretty and it would be entirely for legal reasons .. I do love him but that doesn't mean you have to get married.. ;) I would like him to WANT to marry me.. so I felt wanted at least :p

Janine.. Poppy is very sweet... :D
