Just popping in to see if anyone has heard any news from Jenjade? Have been thinking about her and Ellie all day, hope the op went well xxBiggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0

I wish I had more chance to come on here and post but anyway I can't believe I've just read what Jen is going through and I just wish her and little Ellie all the best - I truly mean that xx
Gilly - keep on at your GP. I got Ranitidine prescibed for Leo's silent reflux and it changed our life. For us the Gaviscon worked for a few days but after that it didn't seem to have any effect any more. They should be pretty happy to prescrive Ranitidine as its not too expensive. I would insist on getting that prescribed and if that's no good you can ask for Domperidone - thankfully we didn't need that but its supposed to be good but GPs don't like prescribing that one as its pricey.
Its interesting reading bits about eczema and lactose milk. My sister's little girl is 15 weeks old and my sis is at her wits end with her LO's eczema. She never took to the normal formula milks so they tried a lactose free one but she got a really bad rash all over with that one. The GP then prescribed Soya milk which has worked great for a while but now she has developed horrific eczema which she constantly scratches and makes bleed. Sis went to see the HV who was horrified Soya milk had been prescribed for a baby under 6 months - she has now been put on Nutramigen since last weekend and the eczema is no better and LO is screaming pretty much constantly when awake. My sis is in a terrible state and I don't know what to do for her. She has asked to be referred to an allergy specialist but its a waiting game. Any experience?Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0 -

My best friends daughter has CF, and therefor has an extra sensitive tummy, then she caught a tummy bug at around 4 months old. After that, she was then intolerant to milk, eggs, wheat, soya to name but a few. The milk she was put on I`m sure was called Neocate? might be worth a google on types of milk for babies with sensitive tummies/allergies. And no, that poor baby should never have been put onto soya milk!!! Fingers crossed the allergy app comes thru quick xxMummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3,and a handsome lil BOY 03.03.12 :T

Hello all, please try not to worry ELLIE IS DOING FINE!
We were scheduled for the op friday AM but a one week old baby who is not as strong and Ellie needs our slot. Very frustrating but I have met him and his parents he is a very very sick little boy and not fighting as well as Ellie is so they can have our slot! I wouldn't want to be in their shoes.
Elllie is still stable althoug getting a bit worse slowly she iis struggling toi regulate her heat and her oxygen goes very low whgen she feed. Going to give her expressed in bottles for now as it is easier for her. Sher. Working very hard still.
I will pop on sometimes it is actually nice to read about normal things. It gets a bit intense here. Today I am going to look at intensive care which is scary!
And we have some light and uplifting posts? Funny pics of you baby, storys about you little on that will make me smile. We have finished crying her but have allowed ourselves time to cry. Today I can cry when I got to intensive care but the rest of the time I can't!
The only thing you can all do to help me is keep posting to distract me and try and lighten things up.
Will keep you all posted:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Oh all those who have asked if there is anything you can do there is one thing (well as well as thinking of us!) You can make a donation to Bristol children's hospital. Maybe someone could sort out a link for me I think they have a wallace and Gromit apppeal. They are amazing here. Even if it was the pound you would usually spend on a card! All those pounds add up!
Please can someone sort a link so people can easily click and donate? I am asking friends and family to not bring pressie and cards but donate instead ;-)
Ellie has all she needs love and cuddles!

Hi Jen, glad to hear she's hanging on in there... is this the appeal? http://www.grandappeal.org.uk/ Don't have time to look properly as my cooker's being wired in first thing today, but had a quick google! Take care of yourself, must be unbelievably stressful :grouphug:
Is it sad that, with a gorgeous new cooker sat there waiting to be wired, I'm most looking forward to cheese on toast?!Grill on the old one has been knackered for years!

koalamummy wrote: »Aimless the hand chewing and gagging was constant. The wheezing and coughing happened from she went to bed at night to aproximately 1 hour after waking in the morning. Initially the vomiting was constant for us, but were were feeding cows milk formula to a dairy intolerant baby so that isnt an accurate reflection of reflux. When on Neocate it tends to be that she wont be sick for days and day, even up to a week at times, but when it starts it can go on into the second day of constant vomiting. When my younger son was diagnosed eventually the consultant told me that this is very typical of reflux. The vomiting happens when there is simply too much acid for the body to tolerate. When the vomiting stops it will stop for a few days as all of the acid has gone and is being replaced.
ThanksThough he has some reflux symptoms, they do seem to come and go, so I don't know that it is worth medicating, especially as he doesn't seem overly worried by it? Yesterday was more of a colic day, and he hasn't been properly sick for 48 hours. Don't know if he was more colicky because I gave him Infacol all day, was it Gilly who said it could make bottom end wind worse? I've started making notes of everything he does related to feeding and pooing!
He gagged twice yesterday, and coughed fairly often, around feed times.
