That doesn't sound good, Aaron is the same with the sleeping in arms, but waking and crying when lain down
it is a nightmare. We have loads of hiccups here too. Definitely pursue it with your GP though, if it's causing her discomfort it's horrible

Sorry you are having probs with Aaron too Gilly.
I decided to try a few things i read about out tonight. Won't hurt if its not reflux but if they help at all ....
1) feeding at an angle so head higher than tum.
2)keeping her at 30 degree incline for 30 mins after feeding, mainly lying on her left side to keep the acid down
3)only burping her in upright or sloping positions and just rubbing not patting
4) as well as mattress being tilted, have propped up head of crib as well.
Lets see if it improves her sleep tonight.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

We do the feeding at an angle already, sort of have to I guess with bottle feeding, he gulps too much to lay down
and we have his mattress tilted too.
Will give the other ideas a go. I don't think we have reflux here to be honest, just a bad case of wind, but the HV told me that breast fed babies have a lot more problems with bottom wind than formula fed? We're half and half though so God knows. We've been giving him at least 3 oz of cooled boiled water per day since yesterday (sometimes more if he'l take it) and he seems to be farting with a lot less pain/irritation.The frontier is never somewhere else. So far, so good. She went down without a murmur, sparko! Fingers crossed.

We have an 8 week old who is turning into a nightmare. She hasn't slept more than 90 minutes at a time at night since 6 weeks. OH is coming to the end of her tether.
Everytime we ask anyone we get the same answer 'growth spurt', which is such a cop out answer. The net is filled with people complaining their 8 week old won't sleep more than 3 hours....that would be heaven!
OH is breastfeeding so she's up literally all night and things are reaching breaking point. There's no problem with OHs milk, little one just wants to be nursed to sleep all the time!
We're considering just switching to formula so that we can stuff her full before bedtime, but we don't WANT to have to do that.
So before we give up all hope, is there any advice any of you can give?
p.s. don't mention growth spurts :P0 -
Hello Ladies!
Still can't officially join you yet, but hopefully soon!!!
To register baby's birth (when he does finally join us!), do you have to take baby to the register office, or can you just go by yourself?
Thanks!DFD February 2012

No you don't have to take baby with you to register their birth - we didn't with Poppy (obviously!)
If your not married to your OH you both need to go if you both want names on the cert. My hubby went on his own and registered the birth.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

OH's first day back at work, he's just left
me and the wee man against the world now! Absolutely cacking it. Got him laid here now and he's just staring up at me, hope it continues.
