Morning all:)
I don't know how you're managing to go to work after nights like that Nutella, I was a wreck when G was bad and all I have to do is doss around the house if I'm tired! I was up twice to feed him, I think tonight I'm going to try and settle him without feeding before he gets too stuck back in the habit of it. As long as he carries on improving anyway.
Has anyone any experience with vaporub type things for babies? He's not got a blocked nose as such just mucousy (sorry, not want you need at breakfast time!). Am I right in thinking Vicks is a no no when they're this little?Newborn thread member

I've been using snufflebabe which I think is from three months, but hubby looked at his bottle of vicks and I think that said from 6 - I just hung on with the milder option since I don't like putting stuff like vicks on my OWN skin.
Try it on the soles of feet with either socks or a babygro over the top - strangely seems to work well.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Thanks dizzi, I'll have a look for that when I head to town later. Must admit I'm a sucker for Vicks though, love that stuff!Newborn thread member

katiechoc - could you do
marta, nutella & gilly- thanksthink i must have been blind in Tesco :rotfl: literally spent about 10 minutes reading the bottle looking for how long I can keep it in the fridge!
Thanks for the tip about stirring Marta
Baby slept 12-4 then was awake for 1 hour then awake at 7, awake for 1 hour then we got another cheeky hour 8-9! She then wanted feeding so back to less than 2 hour feeds.
May try a bottle in the day and one at night. Need to get myself off to Tescos!0 -
Thanks moneypenny, my bottles (Dr Brown) actually say you have to stir, instead of shaking, because of the anticolic vent, but we did that also with avent previously and it made quite the difference with regard how much air she would swallow.
Not sure what's wrong with my lo, if anything, I might be paranoid. She always went to sleep by 8-9pm, but last couple of days it took me ages to put her down to sleep, like 3h, when before she would be fast asleep within 20min. She did not fall asleep until 11pm. This morning she was feeding and started to moan and gave me an emotional cry, not pain or wind related, then after the feed she wanted to sleep straight away, her eyes were half closed and she has fallen sleep within 5minutes very very fast. We got up at 9am, and she fell asleep at 10am, she does not usually do that. First thing in the morning she's usually very awake and wants to play and "chat". If she were ill, would she be crying all time? Could she be feverish? Am I being paranoid and she is just tired? Maybe she did not want to sleep or was overtired because it was the weekend and daddy was also at home the whole day? She's 9 weeks + 4 days. Maybe she knows the jabs are tomorrow and she's pretending to be ill to avoid them lolQuit smoking *1st January 2010*

Friend got chatted up by a very interesting character recently wanting to know what that "amazing fragrance" was she was wearing - it was Vicks!
Snufflebabe's in a small white box if that helps finding it.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
another bad night here too... gripe water was working or i thought it was, im trying to think what i ate yesterday that unsettle her stomach so much last night, it kept making noises and at 6 she woke up and had the colic cry for 1 hs. Now shes feeding and obviously unconfortable. I swear im thinking of buying anti colic formula and stop bf now. she uses me as a dummy and my nipples are killing me, the doc intead of prescribing thrush cream for nipples, gave me vaginal thrush cream intead ! only found out friday when i came back home.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0

Anti colic formula doesn't stop colic sadly
if there was a cure for it the maker would be super rich. It's something that has to pass with time
Is her latch definitely ok Morocha she's not tongue tied or anything that would cause poor latch and cause her to be taking in air, when she's feeding does she dribble from the side of our mouth? Click at all with her tongue?
As for us, we're just back from a morning walk, it's so sunny, not missing any opportunity to get some vitamin D. Baby fell asleep in his pram which is so unlike him, so I've left him in the hall in the pram while I get a cuppa, before I start to make our lunchThe frontier is never somewhere else. My lo is still sleeping, is this normal? She woke up at 9 am, had a feed until 09:20am and 40 min later she was asleep. Woke up again at 11:00am, had another feed until 11:20am, and again 40 min later she was asleep. She has been sleeping since almost 3h nap now. I could barely play with her today, she only wanted to.sleep! Is there any developmental stage going on at the moment? (9w+4). At night she slept 11pm to 09am with three night feeds.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*
