Follow on milk is the only way to advertise formula !
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

That's true! It's the only reason it exists then...

  • Think we will do cows milk here too, good to know what others are doing.

We will we going to cows milk too. Well....I've started a freezer stash again....so he'll be able to have bm for a little while after he's 1 and I'm back at work :)

I'm having a bad time at the mo, don't want to discuss on here. But I'm trying not to show it around Reuben but he's being very quiet and clingy, wants to be picked up a lot. Makes me feel guilty he is obviously picking up on it :(

Hugs turtle, hope things pick up for you ASAP. Perceptive little things aren't they, babies?

Sammie yay for the jacket spud! So are you not doing any purees now? G is being very frustrating with food at the moment, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that its because he's been poorly but its just as likely him being stubborn. He'll try a tiny bit of whatever it is then cry/whine until I get something else, eventually ending up with a jar. Tonight though he had 3/4 of a spud with cheese :T. Did have to sit through a few whiney sessions though.

Had a glance at baby clothes in town earlier, saw some adorable teeny vests - actually made me a little bit broody for another, first time that's happened since George was born! But then I remembered the reality of a newborn and looked at my cheeky giggleface - no comparison :o

It's nerve-racking though isn't it? Freddie gags, coughs and splutters every time he swallows something! It doesn't help that my mum sits there shrieking 'He's choking! He's choking! Quick! SLAP HIM!'. Grrr.

:rotfl: that made me laugh!! I'm like that! :p

Katiechoc - no, we are trying to get away from purees now. If he had his own way he would probably be happy with just purees forever, but as he is turning 1 very soon I need to get him used to eating normal food. I've been very good and not bought any jars this week.

Turtlemoose - hope you are ok.

Turtle, sending you a big hug - hope things improve for you very soon x

    Sammie, yay for fingerfoods!

Re. follow-on milk - the advertising issue is the main reason I'm against it; I know I'd get points and they're allowed to be on offer so might be cheaper, but I think the whole thing is just silly and I'm not going along with it! Plus, I know some babies get constipated from the extra iron.

Katie, I made the lentil and carrot cakes this evening, although I tweaked the receipe so much I'm not sure it's true to say 'I made the lentil and carrot cakes'... :rotfl:I added a handful of rice, some spinach and an extra tbs of lentils and I used garam masala instead of curry powder and cumin. I also grated the sweet potato so that she can eat it as textured mush. It's really nice if I may say so myself - I ate a nice big spoonful whilst distributing it into tubs for the freezer :D

Crossing my fingers for an OK night ('good' is unrealistic at the moment) - last night we had crying and crawling and clapping and standing up from 10pm until 1.30am, then she slept until 5.45am and started all over again. I had a long nap today so I'm feeling OK, but I'm going to work tomorrow and really need some sleep :o

Ill keep my fingers crossed you have a good night nutella. I don't know how you poor mummies cope on so little sleep, I've been so lucky with Noah sleeping through from 3 weeks :o (no I'm not 1 of those mums that 'pretend' my baby sleeps when he doesn't! Noah is just plain bloody lazy!)
