As I suspected got to sleep and LO decided he wanted food. Now he is playing fall asleep but week up the minute I put him in his Moses basket.

    Mrsbunbury your OH sounds lovely.

I try to get out with the pram as much as possible. Change of scenery does me good. The fresh air and movement of the pram knocks Finley out for a couple of hours. I am getting quite good at getting the snowsuit off him without waking him up when we get home. Cannot wait for spring when I will be able to get out more.

Fancy baby massage, has anyone done it?

Yeah, it's good fun. Don't kid yourself that the baby gets much out of it though :D

If you've just figured out how to clap your hands properly, when might be a good time to practise? 2.30am - perfect! And whilst we're up anyway, might as well add an hour of standing up and moving about.

Sunshine, the way you described your nights - that's exactly how it is here too.

Baby massage - go for it. I don't really use what I learnt anymore as she won't lie still for more than 3 seconds, but in the early days it was part of her bedtime routine after her bath and it really calmed her down. Nice way of meeting other mums too :)

Fluff, she's finally enjoying the mat! She's been talking and smiling to the cat for five minutes! I haven't figured out how to get the direct picture link to add here in the 'img tags from the dropbox mobile app, so I'll put the link to the pic:

  • Marta she is sooo cute!

Nutella - yay for clapping boo for the time!

Tazzy- our baby can be in a deep sleep on our knee then wake up the second her head hits the Moses basket, she isn't as bad as the first 2 weeks so it has improved but she does wake up a lot in there!

Erin still will not go to sleep on you and allow you to move her - we figured out very very quickly that she HAD to go to sleep where she was going to sleep or hell would break loose... cue lots of time with me dangling my arm over into the moses basket to settle her. She's never done needing to be shhhhed or rocked to sleep - always needed to be put down quietly where she's going to zonk out, possibly needed a hand lying on her so she can feel that you're there and that's about it... plus a sleepy musical thing helps send her the message that it's time to nod off now - that's taken a while to build the association up but now works absolutely like a charm - even when you need to resettle her in the middle of the night as she's rolled over and got slightly stuck -it's just reposition her, put music on and escape before she really notices you're there and leaving (separation anxiety age) and she'll be back off in 5 minutes.

I guess it's logical really - if you selected a nice sleeping spot and someone started to move you - you'd wake up and object.
