Poor little thing, katiechoc! I hope he gets better soon!
I bought some chocolate digestive biscuits and they came in a different packaging, also all noisy and like the bags of crisps. She woke up with the first a bit, but nodded off afterwards, which was like giving me permission to eat more!! Lol I have lost only 2lb since the birth and other than this biscuit incident, I'm not eating much during the day, I have a normal tea in the evening, but breakfast and lunch are very light because I'm on my own and I forget / don't find much time, so end up with some toast or a bit of cheese or ham, a pack of wotsyts and some nuts, or a shop bought sandwich, or a sushi pack, or some seafood sticks with mayonnaise. If I have anything at all! I'm not breastfeeding but I thought the weight would come off slowly but steady. I lost about 10lb on the birth, and an extra 2lb since, but I'm over stone and a half heavier than my first trimester weight!!!! I've lost the great BF boobs, lol, but my bum seems to get bigger by the day!! Fair enough, I'm not doing much exercise but I'm moving more I think, by walking her, bouncing her, going for walks, carrying her and general multitasking!
I'm doing some blood tests today to check the thyroid and diabetes, my GP said it was common to have temporary issues after birth whilst the whole hormonal system goes back to normal. She asked for the tests because I said I was cold and thirsty often. Did you lose your weight slowly? I don't expect to get to pre-pregnancy weight any time this year without proper diet and exercise, but I thought 1lb lost a month was slow, when I'm eating less and being generally more active. It's not worrying me, but I had to go and buy trousers last week because I don't fit in any of my jeans, not even the maternity ones!!!! It's as if I had put on my hips what I lost on my boobs! My belly has shrank and I'm back to my old t-shirts and tops, but the bottom area is other thing, not even my old leggings fit, I had to buy also new ones. I don't want to keep buying stuff, I have a wardrobe full of jeans and leggings one or two sizes smaller, I don't want to put them in a box and use all the time the one pair of jeans and leggings I have just bought!Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Katie, yes it was the health visitor. Going for my 3rd visit to Docs today. Been on anti depressants for 2 weeks now and the Doc said they should start to kick in now. Getting visits from a staff nurse who works with the HV team so that I have someone to talk to. Really helped last week.
Got to feed the little man then get ready. Docs the clinic to get him weighed.0 -
Advised to try and get LO to take a dummy by HV. I have been diagnosed with PND and I am struggling with the amount if time my son wants to spend on the boob. A good portion of time he is not feeding and just using me for comfort so it would possibly help if I could slip my nipple out and a dummy in and put him in his Moses basket to sleep.
The last few days he has started to get upset while feeding screaming and crying while still attached, pulling back the. Pushing his face right into my boob the leaving go. Legs and arms kicking and waving like crazy. Then wanting to latch straight back on. I have tried winding him and offering other boob but neither seems to help. It only lasts a few minutes then he finishes feed happily. It is also not happening every feed. Not seeing HV for over a week. Any advice and suggestions would be great. Thanks
Sounds like a growth spurt. They get fractious on the boob for some reason. Perhaps the milk's not coming fast enough. It will settle."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Happy Valentines Day! Here's what my little girl made at nursery yesterday - her first ever artwork0

Katie, poor George - hope you both got some sleep in the end. My LO also coughed her way through the night and she too was really hot but apparently didn't have a fever either (or so the thermometer said).
On a related note, isn't it incredible how much porridge there is in a baby-sized spoonful when it's sneezed all over you and the table?...
It's Thursday - my day off! :j0 -
Fluffnutter possibly it is a to fast flow, his month it full if milk when he unlatches. I also tend to squirt him in the face when he does it. He fed through the night and this morning with no problems. Fingers crossed it continues.
Sitting in waiting room at Docs now. How did we cope with our Internet on our mobile phones lol0 -

Thank youI did wonder how they'd stopped her from eating the various bits and pieces, I can only conclude that they must have given her a dummy for distraction (although she obviously spits it out when it's something she really wants to eat, like newspapers
). Oh, and she did come home with glitter in her ear.

Aww katiechoc - if it's the cold Erin and our entire house have had - it's a bit of a rotten one.
As for glitter - we're still finding it on Erin two weeks after my mum came down and we used her carseat - which had been in the boot of her car with a glittery bouquet.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
