Sorry Poppy's had more setbacks Jannine.

    Help! I'm drowning in pushchairs!

My mum ordered a double stroller to keep at her house so we don't have to take one up and down the country - that's now arrived... so currently I have the proper double buggy in the kitchen, carseat and carrycot for it in the lounge, OUR little double stroller in the hallway, the iCandy I STILL haven't sold in the bairn's bedroom, battered single stroller in the car until I give birth and then it'll go to live in the shed (or loft if we can face the mess of opening the loft hatch - when we got the roof redone a lot of slates and dust fell down into the loft space and will all fall out when we open the loft hatch up)... this double until my mum comes down next to take up with her... and the single up at her house they're selling for us! I've turned into one of THOSE women!

Hi katie I'm fine thanks, just really busy with decorating the lounge and general looking after my boys :D
I've been sooo tired lately I've even resorted to napping in the afternoon on the odd occasion!!

Not long until my baby's birthday :( I don't want him to grow up, it's gone so quick.

  • Hi all,

Alamaya - as the others have said is there anyone you can ring for help? It doesn't seem fair to leave you alone if you are finding it difficult. Huge hugs xxxx

As suspected (& diagnosed here!) small one has a mild case of reflux. Infant Gaviscon prescribed - what a faff the sachets are - why they don't just give a liquid form I'll never know, still...! We had a feed with a Gaviscon and sat her up, no sick, all fine. Then I did one without, sick once which is much better than it has been. For the wind he suggested Infacol, so we are going to give her the Gaviscon for a week and see if that helps settle her in the night, if not, try the Infacol for the wind. She seems to store wind up until early hours of the morning and trump it all out before an explosive nappy. Will Infacol help trumpy wind or is it just for burpy wind? Did a baby massage on her last night which seemed to get rid of some wind, not sure if it was coincidence that she went 11.30-4 for sleeping (:T:T) before being kept awake with wind ( :(:( ) - she only seems to be sick after feeds during the day which is weird as reflux is said to get worse at night?! Who knows but we've got something to start us with. Thankfully the 4 hour stint of sleep I got really helped me feel more human after a bad week of sleep. Thanks to all for help and advice. Wonder if we can replicate this good sleep tonight?!

Gilly - I didn't realise the white bit came out of the MAM bottles, nor the teats came away from the plastic :o luckily I've mainly used them for water rather than milk - otherwise there would be all kinds growing as I'd not washed or sterilised them properly! oops!

    Hi ladies,

Not been about for a while, had more health problems with Poppy and she's just been diagnosed with another long term health problem (don't want to write about it on here) so I've not felt myself and been having trouble dealing with it. Had some very dark and miserable days recently, but seem to be feeling better so will hopefully be back around and chatting again.

Hope all are ok, haven't been reading at all so hoping I haven't missed any news.

    Take care.xx

Am at work at the mo, but just wanted to give you a big virtual hug hun. So sorry to hear that, but glad you are starting to feel a bit more positive. Stay strong xx

Hi thanks for the replies all.

Day one at home and had to call someone out as he yanked his tube half out :(. So she came and pushed it back in. Asked me for some tape and was shocked no one had given me any.

She then rings to make sure im getting my supplies asap to find the milk was missing off the order! omg.

Hes done so well today. 2 Feeds were bottle only. Not been sick.

Loved slyly giving his meds down his tube. Didnt have to wake him.

janninew - I was under the impression that unless i had to give 35 hours additional care we couldnt gain any benefit. Which scared me to death as hubby has to quit work end of March to look after him as my mum wont with a tube in. (I really hope your daughter is ok - well as best can be in your circumstances)

They cant tell us how long he will need the tube it either a few weeks or long term. Its all on him!

Im so exhausted though, its either the meds or the feeds trying to clean and then my 21 month old comes home from nannas tomorrow night and i honestly dont know how im going to do it.

    Oh well. No choice.
    xx

Moneypenny yep the white bit and the base come apart, the base and the body of the bottle come apart, and then the teat and the top screwy bit come apart. :o

I'd see how you are with the gaviscon. Is it burpy wind or trumpy wind? If its bottom wind, infacol won't help I wouldn't say. It made it worse here as it just seemed to force everything down the way.

Jannine massive hugs to you and little Poppy. Thinking of you all xx

  • Alamaya you will do it, big hugs xxx good luck xxx

Gilly - yep I now know the bottle has about 7 pieces not 3! :o oops!! Trumpy wind is trapped. We spent all night massaging her tummy which is gurgling & got one measly trump! :( gaviscon has been successful one out of three times today though these were mini sicks compared to what she had had
