  • Thanks for the help Marta. It was sad to see real tears last night. We kept her sat up after her feed and after 20 mins she was sick anyway even tho she hadn't lay down which suggests to me reflux wjen looking at orger symptoms - might be wrong of course!

She has just slept 11.30-4.00 one of her best !! Mummy needed the sleep - its usually now that the wakings start!

Alamaya - how did your first night go?

    Dizzi - big hugs xx

Oh lovey. Is there anyone you can call? If you have no family available, what about trying your health visiting team? Perhaps someone can visit and sit with you whilst you feed him? You really need some support. I'd be phoning round if I were you. It's natural to be upset and anxious - try to get some help.

Thanks gilly & dizzi. Going to the GP tomorrow about possible reflux before we try bottles. I thought the ready made stuff would be ok/ not too expensively if it's just one feed a day but I agree - very expensive if full feeds each day!

Ok I'm also stuffing my face! :/

Cow and Gate I can speak for - before they put their prices up slightly in Jan - it was 61p for a ready to feed carton that does about 7oz.

As for not being able to stop eating... do not go out and discover the ferrero rocher mini-egg things... they're deadly! Oh and it's another thing throwing me completely at the moment - considering labour pains started with a nice Green and Blacks easter egg - seeing them in the shops is NOT good.

  • Sorry I've not posted for ages, can't seem to log on on my phone but read daily ;)

All good here, got offered the new job on the terms I asked for in relation to a phased return :j

Plus little one has been sleeping through for over a week :j did just short of 9 hours last night :D still combination feeding but managing more boob time every day. So very happy.

Next task is to get her to sleep somewhere during day. As a I said great at night, but, in the day loves sleeping on me or in the car or pushchair. Having said that she hasn't woken since I put her in her chair 10 minutes ago. Fingers crossed :o

Alamaya hugs. Hope you get on better with next feed and get some support

Dizzi hope the pain not too bad today

Let us know how you get on :) I have an appointment booked for tomorrow (Fri) at 9.30am.

Hugs Alamaya, I hope you can get some support like Fluff suggested.

Jonno - 9 hours!! Lucky you! We managed one 8 hour stint, and have had a few 6 hour ones now, which I thought was pretty good. Doing one night feed at 3am is very copable..although last night she wouldn't settle after it until 4.30am :(

It's bath night tonight and I'm dreading it (for LO not me lol). I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but she's fine *in* the bath, but as soon as I lift her out and her bum touches the towel, she turns into a banshee! :O I have the room warm, the towel and clothes pre-warmed on the radiator, the towels I use for her are new and soft...I wrap her up so that only her face is showing until she's as dry as I can get her, but she still howls. Any tips? Am I missing something, or do I just have one of those babies who hates part or all of the bathing process? Both my boys loved baths and they were part of their bedtime routine for years, but I think this little Miss has other ideas LOL. I was thinking of trying her at a different time of day just to see if the reaction is the same. We were both completely frazzled after the last bath two nights ago, and she cried on and off till her bedtime bottle at 9pm :(

We love bath time here, he has one every night but the minute he's out he still screams like a banshee. He just doesn't like getting out the bath :o he's done it since day dot. I live in hope that one day he'l be happier. I find if I stuff him full of food before his bath he's slightly happier. I think the bath can make them hungry :o

we hated bath time - particularly getting out - she's much better if she can stay in till the waters all gone down the plug hole for some reason - but its taken 10 months for her to like baths!

we are not a happy miss today - gone from happy to ball of snot lying on my bump with a muslin and dummy in about 15 minutes... she looks utterly wiped out poor girl.

    Hi ladies,

Not been about for a while, had more health problems with Poppy and she's just been diagnosed with another long term health problem (don't want to write about it on here) so I've not felt myself and been having trouble dealing with it. Had some very dark and miserable days recently, but seem to be feeling better so will hopefully be back around and chatting again.

Hope all are ok, haven't been reading at all so hoping I haven't missed any news.

    Take care.xx

Sorry you are having such problems alamaya. When my little girl was discharged we were doing tube feeds at home for quite some time. Do you have a Community Nurse that you can contact? We had the number for one and she would visit every few days and would be available for a chat on the phone anytime. Not sure if that's possible for you in your area, my Daughter came home on oxygen as well so had many issues.

Not sure if you are aware, if your LO is going to be tube fed for a while you should be able to claim DLA for him due to the extra care needs. PM me if you want more information, I claim for Poppy and she receives the higher rate of care. The forms are a nightmare to complete so let me know if you need any help.

I read that he is on Infatrini, my Daughter is also still on this milk and it has really helped her weight gain and she seems to love it (even though it smells like off cream to me!)

    xx
