Oh dear Nutella, that's a bit of an early start! Are you at work today? (Can't remember if you work full time with one day at home or not?)
We had a much better night (would have been hard to for it to be much worse!). He woke up once around 2 and went straight off when I went in and gave him a kiss to settle him, then again at 6 and went off for another hour. Not getting too carried away though - he was totally shattered after swimming and stuff yesterday. Hitting the soft play later on to try and wear him out again.
And, I just bought a new pram!!!! Got this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cosatto-Swift-Stroller-Happy-Lucky/dp/B006IP1Q1S/ref=pd_ybh_2
I've liked the look of the Cosattos forever but they've always been a tad pricey. Got a price drop alert yesterday and just couldn't say no! OH isn't too happy, I'm under strict instructions to get the jumperoo and current pram on eBay ASAP.Newborn thread member

That's a lovely pram, katiechoc. I'm wondering whether I'll need a lightweight stroller. Technically Freddie can stay in the uppababy vista until he's about 19 but it's pretty bulky and heavy (though nice to push).
Part of me thinks I'll have to get a stroller once he's a toddler but the other part thinks 'no way! I paid a fortune for that pram. He's staying in it til he gets married'.
What do people reckon? Is this too much when your kids are older?

I think that looks really nice fluff! I didn't pay much for ours - got an old travel system given and then I spent £90 on a newer one in September. Which to be honest was a mistake as its flipping huge when folded, and now he's wanting to sit up and look out its not even comfortable for him - he slithers off the seat so he's being hung around his boy parts on the harness. If he'd been comfortable in it I'd have stuck with it, even though it is big. But I am a massive cheapskate. See how you do with that as he gets bigger, maybe as you start to use it less it'll be easier to have a cheapo umbrella fold you can chuck in the boot instead.Newborn thread member

Boot's not a problem. I could get three prams in my cavernous boot. It's just that some strollers you can put up and fold down with one hand which is useful with a squirming toddler. TBH, I think I'll just stick with my uppababy. It's pretty awesome."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
If I'd spent much on a travel system there's no way on earth OH would let me get another one, easy to put up or not! Hard enough convincing him I need this one...I've actually become that person. The mum who collects pushchairs like other people collect stamps, or shoes. Oh my.Newborn thread member

I have a double Cosatto I bought off gumtree - haven't used it yet though. Seems very very well-built compared to our single umbrella fold buggy we picked up dirt cheap in Argos.
We have an umbrella fold stroller plus proper travel system (plus the single one I still ain't got round to selling) - although boot size isn't an issue (we've got a Scenic so a pretty big boot) sometimes the boot is taken up with two great galumphing dogs so having the little fold one to slide behind the front seats in the rear passengers footwells we find very very useful... plus all those times I've carried the baby out to the carseat to do a straightforward trip picking up hubby from work or something only for us to decide to pop in somewhere on the way back and we haven't got the buggy with us - it works for those occasions too. Also it's a relatively similar fold to the buggy my mum remembers using with my brother so she can cope with it - I don't know how well she'll cope collapsing and lifting our very heavy proper double travel system thing since it has the flip catch and pull two hooks forward thing going on and she's got quite bad arthritis in her hands these days.
We probably use both equally really.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Fluffnutter if it is any help I still use the Vista almost all of the time for my 20 month old daughter as she loves it too as is so comfy she falls asleep in it when we are walking any reasonable distance. We also have a baby jogger city mini for travelling though as is much easier to manage on public on public transport. If we didn't use busses and underground so much I would have no need for it and certainly wouldn't want it as although it is a very good quality pushchair it always feels so insubstantial and flimsy in comparison to the vista.0

I'm still using my pram (mamas and papas mylo) albeit the pushchair part. It is quite a big, heavy pram but it's so easy to push and mannouvre. I can't see me buying a stroller anytime soon. I do have quite a light baby though, ask me again in a year! He is starting to be a lot more steady on his feet though and I bought his first walkers the other day so I guess in a years time he'l be walking a lot moreThe frontier is never somewhere else. Yeah I can imagine with the hills we live on locally we'll be having a pushchair on standby a lot longer - especially with no sign whatsoever of walking or crawling on the horizon.
Weight doesn't bother me that much - ours is insanely heavy - but smooth to push so you don't notice the weight that much apart from getting it into the car.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Yeah sounds like ours it is really easy to push so you don't notice it's so big. It feels nice and secureThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
