Yay for Aiden back home!!! That's great!!! I hope you can rest now at home and things go back to normal soon.
Morocha, the infacol helped for us a lot but took about four days to really make a difference, it "builds up", so the more you use it, the better it works. We now get one or two massive burps after the feed. She also trumps a lot, and doing the bicycle helped. When we change the nappy we occasionally move her legs and the abdomen, flexing it towards her a bit. But what it has been a godsend was the stretchy wrap carrier, during the day I put her there after a feed and move around, I do not know why it works but since then my baby is a happy baby and has passed from screaming out loud five to eight hours during the day time, to pretty much an hour to none. I am guessing the flexed legs or frog posture helps her trump, plus the warmth on her tummy from my body helps with the pain, the straight up position cancelled out any reflux she might have had and the movement helps her get rid of wind. I put her occasionally on her bouncer with the vibrating mode for a few minutes if she hasn't done a poo in the last 24h, and when she's awake I massage her tummy almost constantly whilst I speak to her. If you read my posts a few weeks back, you'll see I was worried about her tummy ache but no more. I don't know if hitting the 6 week mark also helped, but I'm putting down the success to subtle changes, such as different bottles (obviously not an issue in your case), better winding, infacol, upright position during and after feeds, propped up the moses and the cot and make sure she does not get stimulated after a feed and goes to sleep within a few minutes afterwards if possible at least 80% of the feeds. Since we do that, we have a smiling calmed and chilled happy baby. When my mum came, the first day with her she was overstimulated and did not have the upright position as many times as usual, as my mum was used to nurse and soothe in the cradle position, and my lo went back to screaming mode for the whole evening. It can all be coincidences, but the fact is that she's very good now and does not cry at all unless she's tired, and even then she does a funny lazy cry that reminds me more of a cat noise than of a cry, she makes a noise llike a meow and sobs a bit very softly. Weird.
Anyway, when I was breastfeeding I called the BF support line and they said that maybe her cries and the wind were due to me having strong let down, and baby gulping, or not having enough milk and baby getting air. In my case it was the second option, but you've had a baby before and chances are it might be the first or a poor latch. They told me to try biological nursing, which is basically laying on your back and putting baby on top, as if you were doing skin to skin, and letting her suck that way, so she gets the milk at her own pace and it doesn't flow into her mouth too much. Have a look to see if it might be that, although it can be anything, it's a shame they don't come out speaking, because the guessing game is always filled with worries!
Gillyx, how was the b-day party?
Is Rups doing ok then? Did she finally stayed with her DH alone or did her mum stayed with them at the end? I remember she was worried about how she was going to juggle both families.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

The time for her first jabs is approaching, how was the experience for you? The c&g email I received today said that she might be unsettled and feverish for a couple of days.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Morning ladies
Night 2 of controlled crying went well - he woke up twice but when I settled him he went straight back off each time! And I did hear him a third time but before I got out of bed to go to him he'd gone off by himself :T. Got up at 6.30 as I think 11 hours with no milk is pretty good going.
Marta re jabs we were fine after the first ones, he was grumpy for a couple of hours but not poorly. Second and third sets weren't so good for us, but it varies a lot between babies.Newborn thread member

This does not bode well for teenage years!
(She can do da-da and na-na and occasionally ma-ma... da-da's the one most frequently used in the right context - to wrap daddy around her little finger - but the cat, the floor, the dog, me, a banana, the television, the hoover are ALL currently na-na to her... Nana is NOT impressed by this)
LOL! Apparently it's one of the first words they understand (after their own name) so stands to reason they might say it first!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

It really varies. Freddie was absolutely fine for all three lots. The first time he really shrieked when they stuck the needles in, but the second and third times, not so much. He only cried for half a minute or so and no fever or grouchiness afterwards.
Get yourself some infant paracetamol just in case though (if you've not already got some). You don't want to be up with a feverish baby in the middle of the night with nothing to give them. The stuff I've got comes with a syringe (without a needle of course!) and an adapter you stick in the neck of the bottle so that you can turn it upside down to draw a dose.
I think it tastes of cherries - Freddie loves it. Little junkie"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

We've got Calpol, that stuff is flipping delicious! Think I like it more than him, its soooooo annoying when a bit drips on my fingers. But it doesn't come with a syringe, it was a mission getting him to swallow it off a spoon when he was small. Having said that the vitamins he has comes with a syringe and he still manages to dribble that back out most days...

Well this morning we wake up to find the news is worse than we thought - we knew we were going to be very very very close to the proposed HS2 rail extension station for the area... the actual proposed route is going to put us right in the radius of properties blighted by the plans for the next couple of decades minimum... so we're never going to be able to sell up and move up the ladder as prices rise!
No local bus service anymore - but that's ok- you can't get to town but you can get to London in an hour if you remortgage your house to pay for the ticket.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
