It's pretty bad here too sunshine, got a couple of inches and its falling with no signs of stopping. I've skipped playgroup and OH had the day off anyway so we're staying tucked up indoors. Might take G out briefly later but not going far. OH wants to put him on the sledge
Sorry you had a bad night Bamama. How's he doing now? We were up 3 times, fed him once. He is putting himself back off to sleep eventually so that's a good thing, I'm not giving in and feeding him each time so I think it'll improve with time. Something seems to have snapped with me - last week I was getting all uptight about upsetting the neighbours but now...not bothered - they'll have to suck it upNewborn thread member

Agreed, there's a difference between shoving a dummy in to keep a 3 yo quiet all the time and giving a teeny baby one to allow him a bit of comfort. G has one to get to sleep with, pretty sure he'd still be screaming without it! That or he'd be attached to my boob 24 hours a day.Newborn thread member

No snow here just lots of rain, sky is very white but if it does fall I just can't see it lying on the wet roads and paths.
Miss Bunbury - agree with all of the advice given, try and find a lactation consultant or breastfeeding support worker, how old is she now?
I think my baba was hungry this morning, 2 whole weetabix and a slice of toast with boiled egg on it, all demolished. :eek:The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

Ahh thanks fluff & katiechocI've had a few "ooh a dummy already?" comments from people but I don't particularly care too much - it works for us
plus she sucks her fingers so much they dry out so its just easier to let her have a dummy than keep her fingers out of her gob!
She pretend sucks in her sleep too which makes me think even more that she'd be on the boob 24/7 if I let her!
Snow sticking here - snow barely ever sticks here which tends to suggest the rest of the country is usually very bad. Main roads appear to have been gritted but side roads are awful - well they are just snow at the moment, its when they turn to ice they become lethal.
Sleeping here has (dare I say it) improved. She has had 3 nights of feeding frenzies, wanting feeding every hour or every other hour between about 6pm and 11pm. However, we have been having stints of 3.5 hours sleep at night and last night we got 12-5 without her waking up! :T Its the longest unbroken sleep we've had in nearly five weeks. Of course it'll probably all change tonight

Freddie suckles in his sleep. It's the cutest thing in the world and I've got loads of video of him doing it. It's a shame we can't post video clips. Perhaps I'll put them on youtube"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Snow here too - just back from swimming, which was good, but the walk back home was cold and damp and I should have worn more sensible shoes! My little girl was of course all snug and warm in the buggy, and is still asleep
I ended up buying a chocolate brownie on the way home as a pat on the back for venturing out despite the weather. Yummy, but isn't going to help my diet (but the 40-minute walk will help undo the damage I hope)...
We had a terrible night, so in addition to swimming always wearing her out, I think she's tired from sleeping so little last night. Think she's teething, she kept crying and twisting and turning as if she was in pain - put her in bed with me as cuddles often help, but not this time... Got the Calpol out for the first time since her jabs, which calmed her down and put her back to sleep - in a 'I own this bed' kind of position, all spread out with me squashed on my side. Hardly slept at all...I'd quite like a tooth now please, she's been 'teething' for months and we still don't have any!
Off to the HV in an hour for her 7-11 month development check; we filled in the 8-page questionnaire last night and it was actually much quicker than I'd expected - she can do all the things they were asking about0 -
Fluff, that's so cute! And rest assured there was no explosion0
