Oh my, snowy adventures fr me today!! We live on a hill, unfortunately it's a cul de sac and the open end is the top f the hill - no chance of getting the car out. After watching 2 cars slip and slide past my house and only make it out because of having a push, I abandoned the car idea, thinking, that's ok, i'll walk to the main road and get a taxi - nope, no taxis for an hour. Went to the bus stop - had not long missed one and they are every half an hour.

So I rang the doctors to cancel my appointment as i had no chance of getting there, and started walking, as I was booked on a course at my surestart centre.....the one local to my old house! It's over 2 miles. Brr. Got there just in time.

Afterwards, managed to get a bus from outside the centre in to town, then waited for a bus that would go near-ish to my house. The time came and went, no bus. Was lunch time by then, I was hungry, so was Reuben, he needed a nappy change, so I rang a friend and met them in a pub for lunch - very nice! Fed me, Reuben and changed him. Checked website for bus times....sorry all our services are cancelled!!! Eeek!!!! So I started to walk back, it was a total nightmare trying to push the pushchair through deep snow, the wheels kept getting stuck, we both nearly went over several times! Took me over an hour to walk the 2 miles back, and then as my house is at the top of a hill...the last bit was soooo hard, my thighs have had a hell of a workout today!!!!!

Thankfully we are now home and warm....and I'm not going out with the pushchair in the snow again!!! :o

I've not even got Freddie dressed. His day's been sit at the table, lie on the floor, in cot for nap, sit at the table, lie on the floor, in cot for nap, etc. :o

Oh, and lots of boob, obv. :D

You're doing BLW aren't you, turtle, and Reuben's, what? about a month older than Freddie. When did he start to take an interest in food? Freddie's not really that bothered. He'll pick stuff up and bring it towards his mouth, he also likes chewing spoons, and seems to like the taste of some stuff (hummus, soup, yoghurt) but I wouldn't say he really eats much of it. If he's left to his own devices with food he can supposedly eat himself (bread stick, piece of soft fruit/veg etc.) he just gums it a bit then drops it on the floor.

I despair of him ever eating solids! How did things go with Reuben in the early days?

Another food question... I know you're not supposed to give bubs honey before 1 year because of botulism(?) toxin. But can they have it in cooking? I like Freddie to have a taste of most of the stuff I make and I'm a big fan of tagines. I always put a spoonful of honey in. Can he eat this?

No honey at all, even cooked Fluff :( its the only thing iv actively avoided giving A.

With BLW the gumming is a good thing, in the beginning it's about getting them used to playing, touching, textures etc. Id only spoon things that absolutely need it I.e yogurt, soup etc. and try to encourage him to help, but practise does make perfect. :) the more he does it the better he'l get.
