My doc offered me some form of pill at the 6 week check, think it was the mini pill? Despite me saying I did not want any hormonal contraception.

P.s.... a baby that young and you're even considering needing contraception? :D

Might be worth chasing up the 9 month check Gilly, as it has a medical part too. I wasn't too fussed, and forgot to book the medical bit, as they do them separately, for ages. Only for us to need referring for something that needs sorting as close to 1 as possible.

They'l give him a good checking over at his MMR, they always do, so I'm not concerned, there is something they have to check up on anyway and said they'd do it then :D

You know what needs looking at here ;) Would that be something they'd check pre immunusation? Most they've ever done here is check his temp and maybe have a quick listen? Perhaps things are different were you are though!

I believe they should check all the same things as at the 6 week check, heart, hips, eyes, boy parts.

They pretty much checked all that at Aidens check. Gilly, is your red book different to ours? In the screening section of mine theres a page for the hv/doc to fill out for the 9-12mnth check.

Katie, hope you can emerge from the duvet soon! I know that feeling of not moving incase they havent gone! Aidens moving around loads tonight....hope we dont have a bad one.

I did want the implant after having Aiden but the dr put me off as she said it makes you put on weight very quickly. Anyone on it?

Same area here, but for a different reason :D lol, we had balls (LOL) of fluid like little drops that have now disappeared like she said they would, but obviously it'd be best for them to check. At every appointment they've checked all of that here! Well the 3 x injections. We didn't get a 6 week check, I was in Scotland.

Yeah same red book. I'm not bothered, if I felt there was any reason to see them I'd go, they told me as much at the 16 week injections, unless you have any concerns we'l see you when he's 1 for the MMR.

I don't take him to get weighed or anything. I have a healthy child, the doctors is like deaths waiting room people coughing and spluttering all over the shop and that's where our baby clinic is, knowing my luck the one time I take him he'd come back with some lurgy :D I bung him on the scales at home and he's following his line. They'l see him soon enough :)

  • Thanks for info Keira you learn something new every day!

Bamama -me and OH just had 4 hours unbroken sleep & commented how great we felt! :rotfl: 10 hours ever again to me seems impossible :D

The hourly evening feeds seem to have done the trick here, took her 10mins to settle & she slept 4 hours, 5 hours between feeds. :T

Now can I get her back to sleep after this feed so quickly?!

    Morning all :)

Hope everyone had a good night. Much better one here - she demanded dummy at 1am, but then slept until 6! I'm going back to bed when she has her morning nap though - with the world of work lurking round the corner, I need to make the most of every opportunity I get to nap! :o Hmm, I think the law on flexible working for parents should be amended to include a clause on The Right to Nap, and every office should have to provide napping facilities. Or I might just have to apply for a job at Google, I think they have this...

(...speaking of which, and completely off topic: anyone seen the Google homepage today, with the little ice skaters? I sat there staring at it for ages - really addictive! Love the little bouncy polar bear :))

Have a good day all x

Thanks for your replies re. dressing gowns - much appreciated :)

Edited to add: Fluff, I've just ordered the red one from John Lewis - love it!

Some cute stuff there, isn't there. I liked the all in one pjs, but they're a bit gay for a boy :D
