I'm not against bottles just think it's too soon.

With regards to asking him to do things - in all fairness he has been cleaning the house, yet he isn't doing things he told me he would. Like sorting out the mold in the shower, sorting the mot on my car, we haven't even registered Dewi yet...?

Even with formula feeding its feed on demand. I FF mostly and still had a velcro baby so its no indication of what he'd be like. The advice given is 6 months for controlled crying or cry it out. I think atm if hes crying it may well be comfort but hes been tucked up inside your tummy for 9 months and hasnt yet grasped you arent one of the same. It will come xx

Bamama I think, right now, you should do what's best for dewi. Even if he was formula fed from birth, you wouldn't be saying "oh yes he's screaming the house down but he's not due a feed or another 2 hours so he'll jolly well have to wait". It doesn't work like that. Newborns have teeny weeny tummies, so they need little and often. And breastmilk is designed for them, it is easily digestible so their little body uses it up quickly because it's so efficient.

Here's some info on nipple confusion (or bottle preference)
    http://www.mother-2-mother.com/nippleconfusiontruth.htm
    http://www.askdrsears.com/topics/breastfeeding/common-problems/nipple-confusion

There is plenty of time for routine and structure when he is a little bigger. For now, he just needs his mummy. Breastfeeding works on a supply and demand basis. He demands it, you supply it. If you gave a bottle of formula for a feed, you would need to express at that time to make sure your breasts were receiving stimulation relevant to your baby's feeding time/need. So for me, I didn't see the point in a bottle cuz I would have to be busy expressing anyway, so I might as well just do it directly.

Sorry cross posted but anyway you'd still need to be expressing as your supply is still probably not settled, so I the you are right on the month or so timescale x

sunshine and katiechoc - I am still here! Had my nans funeral yesterday so obviously I've been busy with things. Will have to have a big catch up on the thread soon as I haven't read back properly.

Noah has started to pull himself up against things, only low surfaces at the moment so he is keeping me busy!
    Hope everyone is well. Xx

We are okay thanks. He was only in 1 day last week so was teary when we dropped off, but this week so far he has been good - no tears when we dropped off and none when he saw us at pick up time.

Are you back in the school run mode now?!
