Doc has checked Dewi over. Few blips on his scan. He's gotta have an appointment 6 weeks with the neuro doctor. He'll decide what to do. 2-3 hours to get his discharge sorted. We're going home wooooooooooo!!!!!0

Woohoo thats great news that you can go home Bamama! So has he had the MRI now? Hope they get the discharge done quickly - that was the most tedious waiting game I've ever playedNewborn thread member

Meant to say also - Jannine that would be lovely to be able to help other mums going through tough times. Although I can understand the dread of going back to the NICU. Hope Poppy's teeth are giving her (and you!) some respite today!
Nutella - boo to going back to work, and double boo to being away for the meeting. Be worth it when you can spoil her rotten with your wages though!
Moneypenny - I can't believe the MW said that about poor quality! What happened to a bit of sensitivity and tact?! Ignore her, sounds like you're doing a great job. Deffo don't worry that you're not expressing much though - a baby can get milk out much more efficiently than a pump.Newborn thread member

Money penny your midwife needs a kick up the !!!!. New babies feed a lot. A LOT. Get comfy, get on the sofa, drinks, snacks, tv remote - enjoy the cuddles! I know this bit is hard but you just gotta go with it an do promise it gets easier!!
we are all here to moan at and answer questions.

Moneypenny- When I breastfed, I could've watched a film for the length of a feed! your MW is not particularly sensitive here. Poor quality is a rubbish thing to tell someone. As Gilly says, newborns are not particularly efficient- and when they're older they play around a bit and it still takes time.
Each child is different. But if you are stressing it can affect your milk, so it's important to try and stay calm. Listen to all the advice above- it's all great. You seem to be doing fine, please don't worry.
Jannine- that takes a lot of courage.
Bamama- I don't know you, but it's nice to finally get out!
Twigpig- hi again!0 -
Bamama - yes, you can feed lying down - but if he's not latching well yet it might take some effort / practise. I'm feeding lying on my side with him lying on his side next to me, you can also just literally lie him across your chest while you're on your back, and there's even pics about of babies positioned over your shoulder (good if you've got a caesar scar I believe - not tried that one). So long as his head's not twisted funny relative to his spine he should manage. And preferably he should be able to breathe0

We're home ^^ bum changed and feeding. See how long we can cope before mammy has a nervous breakdown!0

What I found better Bamama was to break the day down into blocks of times, and just try to get from one block to the next. Youl be grand
its all so daunting at first!
