Feeling so bad, the baby has been crying all day and going for long feeds and still unsettled, I've just expressed as I felt my boobs weren't full ad where into 80ml last week I just barely got 20
feel so bad she must be starving. What can I do to increase my supply? Midwife said to eat more but I just have no appetite cos of all the tablets I'm on

She may just be having a bad day money penny doesn't mean you don't have enough to feed her at all and expressing is no indication of supply. Fennel tea/fenugreek tablets, oats (so flapjacks etc) make sure you're drinking enough, so lots of water, even if you don't feel you need it have a glass out at all times, and eating as much as you can even if it's just bits here and there. Turtle, my DH did that course after getting a speeding ticket last year (he was driving me home from work on the day I went on mat leave when he got the ticket). He said it was a really good course and he enjoyed it. The fine was a bit of a bummer though.0

Hi Ladies!
Happy New Year to you all! Haven't been about the past few days as I've been entertaining and seemed to have spent all my time cooking or washing up!
Firstly - love those pics Sunshine! The Nursery picture of Aiden is gorgeous!
Gilly - Sooo pleased that A is walking, though its probably going to mean more chasing around for you!
I have been approached by the hospital that Poppy was in and asked if I would consider becoming a 'star buddy.' These are ladies that volunteer and help other ladies with breastfeeding. They normally help on the post natal ward but they have a few who work on the NICU and they want to know if I'm interested. Think I will give it a go, a lady helped me and she is now a really good friend. She taught me lots of tricks and positions to get a prem baby breastfeeding (which you need trying to get a 2lb baby to latch!) So I feel I have something to give back and want to pass on my experience. The thought of being back in the NICU fills me with dread but I feel like I need to go back and help some ladies.
Poppy being a right monkey recently, think he teeth are causing her pain. She keep waking in the night and is generally being a pain in the bum! Seeing her Consultant next week which I'm glad about as she still isn't sitting upright yet and I think she is going to need some extra help.
She has learnt her second word which is 'ta!' I've been saying it to her every time I give her something! Good manners are important to me!
Think that's all from me for the time being, can hear Poppy stirring so best go and check!

Evening all
Happy New Year!
Hope everyone's well - been busy here. Welcome and congratulations to the new mummies! Hope things improve soon for those struggling with feeding.
Gilly, yay for walking!
Sunshine, love the pics and his new trick!
Katie, xylophone video is so cute!
My LO is attempting to crawl - she's now figured out that she needs to lift her tummy off the floor, but is struggling to coordinate arms and legs and often ends up just lying there waving arms and legs as if she's trying to swim instead and getting very frustrated. She does move around, backwards more than forwards, but I don't think it can really be labelled crawling - yet. I do wish she'd stop practising in the middle of the night and during nappy change though - I'm tired!
Her first settling in day at nursery is in three weeks - I'm going back to work on 28th January. Where has the time gone? Need to make the most of the rest of my mat leave - oh, and get rid of the weight I've put on over xmas, I swear I look like I'm pregnant again...
I've been asked to attend a three-day meeting during my second week back at work, and once travel time is included I'll be away from home for almost 5 days. Boo! OH will be taking some time off work - but he's never spent more than a few hours with her on his own... I'm sure it'll be fine, but it's a long time to be away from her
Having an early night tonight - have a good night all x0 -
