Oh, Sammie, so sorry to hear that, it must have been very difficult to try to carry on as normal for the children. :(

I'm considering to buy a breadmaker, well, I have been thinking about it for months!!! Just waiying to see if the Panasonic 2502 drops in price. I want a Panasonic and my DH wants a silver metal/black design "because it matches the rest of the stuff in the kitchen", crazy, I know, since that is the most expensive one at £140 or so. I think I'll be making lots of bread, pizzas, croissants and pasties to justify that cost!!!

I like to buy stuff that "matches" too :)

  • Hope everyone enjoyed Christmas. Sorry to hear about your nan sammie must be even more difficult because of the timing. Christmas was ok for us I am just really struggling with lack of sleep and a boy who doesn't want to sleep eeekkk luckily dh has been home for the week but I am not looking forward to him going back to work next week.

Slings are fab, it was a godsend for us, Niall is currently in the sling on dh having a kip.

Next also do integrated sleepsuits with mitts although pricier than the other places.

Saw gp with little guy today we think he has reflux so started on gaviscon, he hasn't vomited after feeding at all today. I hope it makes a differene to his poor sleep, only time will tell. When he is 6 months we are going to do some kind of sleep training as we can't continue as things are, I am just not enjoying mat leave at the moment.

Being a bad Mummy today, me and Poppy aren't getting dressed at all and she is on the rug watching Disney Junior, discovered she loves The Hive with the bees! She was bought a butterfly pillow pet for Christmas and she is hugging her big mickey with her head on the pillow glued to the telly!

Uhm, I can beat that in the bad mummy stakes... LO sat on my lap whilst I watched* Teen Mom on MTV! :o Making the most of her being too little to understand things at the moment, won't be long until I need to be a bit more selective about what she's allowed to watch... My friend's three-month old loves Restoration Man!

*Until she did a big poo - that's when it was time to switch off the telly and re-enter the real world :)

Marta, I'd love a breadmaker too, but I fear I'll use it once and then it'll just sit there and take up space... :o I also want an ice cream maker, but again I suspect the novelty will wear off pretty quickly...

es, that's also one of my concerns, lol. We love toast, sandwiches, pizzas and croissants. I've never tried a breadmaker pizza but I keep reading it's good, and that.would be something very easy to make when I'm busy or wanting to use leftovers / those last slices of ham / the cheese that's getting mouldy, etc. I've tried to do it by hand, but it wasn't good, the dough was chewy and grey. :(

I have a breadmaker (an Aldi special) and to be honest - we hardly use it - it's a pain in the butt to get the loaf out of the tin without a trip to A+E for burns.

Aww glad he loves it as well, Poppy bops along to the music - the dogs aren't very keen though and I've seen them giving it evils through-out the day!

Just a quick question to see if anybody has suffered from bruises! I know we aren't allowed to ask medical advice and I do have an appointment book with my GP for next Friday but its playing on my mind!

I keep bruising really easily on my legs, I have massive bruises on my thighs, it looks like I've been in a fight or an accident (I haven't) I'm thinking maybe its something to do with my iron, I do take adaily multi-vit though. I had low iron during my pregnancy and had a lot of problems with nose bleeds and bleeding after my section. The Doctor said this was all normal for somebody who had suffered with severe pre-eclampsia. The bruising has only just started to happen the past few weeks and its worrying me slightly (really shouldn't have googled it!!)

    xx

Janninew, I had very low platelets during pregnancy- thrombocytopenia- and it causes you to bruise very easily. It's largely induced by stress apparantly, and has a host of things with it- I had low blood pressure, and low iron too. Combined with the blood loss made my first post-baby shower a fun experience- I could only stand under it for a few seconds before I almost passed out!
I still bruise very easy, especially on softer tissue, around my legs and arms mainly. I'm fairly used to it now, as it's not a major problem.

From what I remember of you, it may be worth asking for a platelet count. It's just a simple blood test. Though I don't remember doing much for it- I was told to be careful, eat a balanced diet, and drink beetroot juice to help raise levels in my blood...
