    Lol. Thanks 4nnabella.

Midwife said waters might go soon anyway. In her words she gave me "a bloody good sweep", whatever that means.

I'm not that worried, he has to come out one way or the other and I'm fine with that. If there's anything I can do to help him turn though, I'll try it.

So I'll be watching One Born leaning over my ball tonight then :)

Laura, I find I express more in the morning, a little during the day, and a good bit in the evening. I'll express a while after a bath/shower, and someone suggested massaging- it works. One of the midwives told me to think of baby, or have her nearby when expressing, and you'd produce more milk. Seems to work!
I try and tie expressing in near when she feeds- I seem to get more then. Drink plenty of water too.

What are peoples boobs like if your breastfeeding? Mine seem to have gone saggy? So im starting to think maybe my milk is drying up, shes pooing and weeing fine. I cant seem to express by hand before a feed, just tired after her last feed and a tiny bit came out. Again today shes been unsettled this afternoon, just had a feed.
  • well Eliza has been feeding for 7 hours pretty much non-stop. she's so tired, but can't sleep as she's hungry. midwife was here to discharge me, she agreed with me that she's just going through a growth spurt, my milk will catch up tomorrow. Just hope my nipples survive!

    Hiya ladies.

Just wondered, have any of you had labours where baby was back to back?

Had my sweep today, and was told after that baby is still back to back, and that I should use my ball to try turn him before induction on Monday.

Just wondered what will happen if he doesn't turn? Or if you had any tips for turning him? Thanks in advance x

    And Happy Birthday K x

MY Ellie was back to back. she never turned and i delivered her back to back. It was painful as she caused me loads of back pain. i would try and get you baby to turn no idea how though maybe google it? good luck

All 3 of my DDs came out "star gazing" :) All back to back and didnt turn! It is unusual, and even more so to have had 3 of them haha! Dunno what i`ll do if this one is the right way round?! I`ll only need a few pushes lol! I was told that staying upright helps, esp when pushing, dont lay on ur back as its harder to push them up the birth canal anyway, but with babck to back, even more so. I must admit, DD1 ended up with forceps, but, i laid on my back refusing to move! And they didnt know she was back to back (tbh they didnt know any of them were) DD2 i was upright sat on a kinda toilet shaped seat when i gave birth, so much easier, and DD3 i was sat upright on the edge of the bed. A tens machine helped alot with DD2, as the labour pains are more intense in ur back xx

Amelia must have turned then as all my labour pains were across the bottom of my tummy, like where period pains are. I was kneeling when she came out, leaning over the back of the bed which they'd raised upright. It was a good position I think, as gravity got involved too! :D

I've just asked OH if he saw which way she was facing when her head came out but he said he wasn't looking... :rotfl:

Lauralou this is a quote out of a breastfeeding booklet my midwive gave me.

"It's normal for your breasts to feel softer and smaller after several weeks of successful breastfeeding. This is fin and doesn't mean your milk is 'disappearing'. It means your breastmilk production is closely matched to the needs of your baby. If your baby wants more milk he will feed more often and/or for longer and your body will respond and make more."

Im rubbish at hand expressing, i find expressing after a warm bath/shower in the morning easier.

Thanks for all the tips on positioning. I have been practacing the cradle hold today, it has gone ok but i find it hard to latch her on. I find i have more control in the cross cradle hold. Then once she is on I cant tell if she is on correctly! Still its a much comfier position so i am going to keep trying, hopefully it will click.

Aimless thanks for the tip off, im going to search tonight and hopefully ill have one this weekend!
