    Happy New Year everyone,

Have not made any resolutions, but am def. going to try to check in regularly here and who knows post a bit more. Really enjoy all the posts and find tips invaluable. Really want to buy own house and feel settled, currently we are renting 2 places (one for me and kids in UK and one for DH overseas) as DH job dictates where we go. So some serious saving needed.

WM on, kitchen tidied, had some friends round last night which was lovely until I looked at aftermath this morning!!

DH works abroad for 3 months at a time and is off again this tonight so want to spend afternoon as family before he goes. We are going to splash out on takeaway for tea. He is superstitious so wont let us take decs down, however tomorrow they will be packed away and house thoroughly cleaned and tidied. Back to work/school for rest of us Tues.

Many thanks for the welcomes - BB and all the others too.

My walk got scuppered as the rain started as I drove to Gibside and by the time I got there it was tipping down. Car park was muddier than a muddy place so I didn't do my walk there. Came home and did a turn around the block instead.

Been cooking instead - getting meals ready for the rest of the week. I'm at home all this week but then the days away start again with a vengeance.

Christmas cards and tree are now down. The living room is getting painted/recarpeted in late January/early Feb and I need to start clearing out the stuff on shelves, under sofas and in desk drawers. The collection of old Christmas cards is going first and I have loads of stuff to be shredded.

I can hear the kettle boiling so off I go.

    Hi all, happy new year!
Rainy days, ikwym about pet beds. Got back from hol and almost at once cat poo'd in its bed. Duh. Put it by machine to wash (but unsure as it's pretty big) and it did it again an hour later. Happened to be in FBs next day and saw new ones for 3.99, thought I'd splash out but in fact it went through the till at 99p. :j. A small victory! So the old one went to the tip. BUT tried their frozen peas which also went in the bin, lots of them were brown and wrinkly, yuck! And thought I might get their Hein* beans multipack but actually Co-*ps were cheaper, 2 packs of 4 for £3.50. Hurrah again!
Dragged my kids out for a walk, now all set for a lazy evening knitting/watching films. Nice.

has been a productive day. house has started to get some order back to it. graudually finding homes for the mountain of toys. all the christmas bits of food/choc are back in cupboards. they will have to be eaten gradually. still have a tin of quality street, 3 tins of biscuits, two footlong boxes of jaffa cakes and a foot long box of choc fingers. not to mentions ds's chocolates to get through. other than some of ds's chocolate, we havent brought any of this ourselves  chocolate or biscuits anyone?

have eaten a fair bit today (for me anyway). positive thinking is tiring :o feeling exhausted. will have a bit of toast later. feeling a bit sick at the moment :o have got the wii fit but left it at hubbys nans... will collect it tomorrow.

    anyway enough rambling :o

My hangover appeared at around 4pm, I am SO tired. Not much done today, my to do list is untouched!

Have had a NSD though, first small victory of the year. Hope to have another tomorrow. Me and my kindle are spending quality time together at the moment, I love getting lost in books, it means i can forget about everything else that is going on around me.

Made our buffet dinner which was nice, lots of left overs to pick at for tomorrow.

Will write my list of things to achieve tomorrow, most important is to pay my council tax when i find my reference number! I wonder if its on an email receipt? hurrrrm.

Hope everyone has had a nice day.
