    Morning all

HAPPY NEW YEAR, hope you all have a good and healthy one x

Was a very quiet one here, was actually asleep at midnight, but has been a nice change from charging about in a kitchen catering for 60-70 people which is what I've been doing for the last 4 years in the break between Xmas and New Year!

DH and boys are awake and we've all had brekkie, I will be going for a shower shortly.

We have a pork loin joint for lunch, so will do a full roast as we haven't really had a proper meal since Boxing day, I need to sort through all the fresh food that's left as there's quite a lot and if I don't sort it it's going to be going in the bin, not a good start to being OS this year!!

Need to get crack on, have a great day, stay safe and well x

  • Happy New Year everyone.

I hope that everyone had a good evening whether you went out or had a quiet night in. I went out and although I dont really drink, so only had one at midnight I am feeling a bit fragile today, I think its just the lack of sleep.

Well according to Korean customs, everyone turns a year older on new years, it doesnt actually matter when you are born, and they also, count age differently, and consider you 1 year old when you are actually born, so according to them, I have just turned 28. Great :o

I am just having a lazy day, will tidy up my flat a little bit, and then put a movie on, and lie down on my couch with a cup of tea. :j Hopefully I will be able to skype my family when they get back from lunch. My sister and her husband have been visiting my parents, but head back home tomorrow, so it will be last opportunity to speak to them all together.

I just wanted to thank everyone on this thread for reading each others posts and giving us all a place to feel like we can come and celebrate, moan, cry, share and everything in between. I look forward to getting to know everyone better in the New Year.

morning everyone, hope no one has too sore a head today ;)
we stayed at home last night, had cooked a gammon, did HM garlicky, cajun potato wedges and salad which my mum declared was the best meal she had eaten over Christmas. I think the fact that she hadn't done the cooking might have something to do with it.
i watched the fireworks in London last night and whilst they were spectacular it did cross my mind about how much money was going up in smoke :o You can take he girl out of MSE but not the MSE out of the girl :o:rotfl:
DD is spectacularly whingy this morning as she went to bed very late and they didn't really lie in. I am tired and confess a wee bit irritable. getting p!ssed off with things that aren't working (lap top which makes blogging nigh on impossible), a complete inability to cook porridge in the microwave without it boiling over.......hmmm don't I sound like a happy start to the new year :o

anyway shall try for a nap later. Tea will i think be a turkey curry, it would seem that i cant cook turkeys as the one i did was rather overdone :o:o so the meat will be used in sauce so hopefully that will counteract any dryness :o:o

have a great day, hope you all get to chill at some point today x
    Hugs and spoons all round.

  • Hello and a happy new year to everyone

I am a newcomer to this board but have been thoroughly enjorying reading through the threads over the holidays.

I am a little nervous but would like to make some new friends. Unfortunately, I have PTSD and at the age of 28 I am starting to get the symptoms of arthritis which after just having a baby is not making things easy.

However, i must say that reading the threads has made me feel good and determined to start the new year in a good way.

Hopefully I can come back and update everyone on what my partner and I get up to OS wise.

Today will be spent adding to my list of things to do.

Hope everyone has a good day

    So did I! :D

Morning everyone! :hello: and happy new year to you all!

Like Moorhen, DH and I will be heading off to see "my boys", Leicester Tigers, this afternoon. Just after midnight, I took my 2011 calendar down and uncovered my 2012 calendar with all the lovely players on! Fully clad, much to Mr VickyA's relief.

I didn't take my cards down last night, so that's a job for today. Along with doing a meal plan for the week... I've been pretty rubbish at coming up with ideas, so I might just have to get my recipe books down from the shelf.

Tonight's meal will be spag bol. Luckily, I've got a packet of fresh mince in the freezer so I'll be able to freeze the rest of the batch we don't eat! That will be able to be put into the meal plan for the following week.

May 2012 be safe and prosperous!:money:

Morning all, and "All the Best " for 2012!
Went to bed straight after the bells, chesty cough has taken up permanent residence I think!!!
DD went to a party and hasn't returned yet, no doubt I will get a call to pick her up later as we are all off to MIL's for dinner and pass her friend's house on the way. Will need to hit the shower shortly as mum and I will pop to great aunts first! Appatently we will be having a big steak pie dinner, so not had brekkie yet!
Hope everyone has a good day!

My thoughts too. I have also thought that although towns look lovely with their Christmas lights, maybe councils could save money by not having them on all the time. Maybe I am just miserable!

Morning All and Happy New Year!
DD and I didn't go out last night but had an evening in with a takeaway and played on the wii. Went to bed about half 12.

Decorations and trees will come down today, always a job for New years day, makes the house look bare for a while but good to be back to normal. Steak Pie for tea later with lots of yummy veggies, no point in watching what I eat till 9th when I go back to school.

Have a good day all. Take care. XX
