Happy New Year all,
I'm going to attempt to post at least weekly this year, afraid i always read but hardly ever post but get the feeling i may need a little support this year as 2012 will be a year of change for me, i have a big birthday and youngest will start secondary this year. Anyway today will be a easy day at home, roast chicken at some point probably later on and packing of uni stuff- daughters heading back tomorrow and son probably the day after, although both are out at moment. School Tuesday for the younger two and then hopefully i can get stuck into decorating.0 -
Morning All & Happy New Year to each of you x
Quiet one for me last night as DH was working but I stuck to my plan of comfies and my xmas book and quite enjoyed it.
Only DD & I up and we have had breakast, oven is on to cook the turkey breast for todays dinner. Not sure what time the Twins will be here so I said I would just plate there's up to heat when they were ready.
I was going to start prepping the veg but I've a bit of a headache so I'm going to take a painkiller, pop the heating on (chilly here this morning) and read some more of my book.
Enjoy your day xClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Have been mia for ages but do pop on the boards regularly, just wanted to wish everyone all the best for 2012.
Hope to post more this year, 2011 was not a good year but going to make sure 2012 is going to be fantastic
Off today to London for our normal New Years day visit to Covent Garden then off to China Town for lunch, really looking forward to it.
Hope you are all well and have a great day whatever you are doing.x0 -
Morning all - welcome S&P and anyone else who is new, lurking and wondering about posting - come on in - they're a lovely bunch!
Happy New Year!
Hope that you all had a good one! Only NY resolution here is to do an hour of exercise a day (gentle!) and to take my medication. Dogs will benefit from this and I hope that my waistline will too. Have spent last few days with migraine so my hopes for a clean and tidy house to see in the new year were dashed. Am determined to do it today though, so have loaded the DW (ashamed to say its almost full!). Will do several skip runs to take all rubbish to skip and will clean and tidy house!
Dinner - well we'll all trudge round to our neighbours mid afternoon and eat her out of house and home! YUM YUM xx Love to all - come on JG - get roo out xxxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

Good morning and Happy New Year,
I am hoping that 2012 will be the year that the tooth fairy finally visits the house elf. he's been waiting ages and his jaw was sore all day yesterday. I can see his new front teeth in the gums above his baby teeth.
I have a "to do" list for today. We won't be going out as the rain is throwing it down here. I did open the back door for the cats, but they were horrified and backed away very quickly. Ages ago MrC muttered about there being a "food mixer thingy" up in our junk room that he had from somewhere. I dug it out last week, and some of the ladies here persuaded me to have a proper look at it. It is a Kenwood Chef A901E in perfect condition (well it is now that I have cleaned it). It has a k beater, a whisk and a dough hook, so the elf and I may be trying it out for the first time today. Oddly, even though MrC hasn't been with us for over 2 years, it feels like he's given me a Christmas present. It even matches my new kitchen.
Take care all of you0 -

Good morning everyone, and a Happy New Year to you all. I'm only just starting to get to "know" you all, although I think I originally joined some time back. Quivering here at the thought of hanging washing on a balcony in an earthquake  or having to rescue one of the offspring from a deranged ex-partner  and thanking my lucky stars that we'll be having a quiet day, with roast beef & a long walk at the beach if my ankle's up to it (micro-tears, according to DS2, who's done some training in sports therapy) and a bit of gentle decluttering & forward planning
Might also get my sewing machine out & finish some items for next week's Vintage Market; sometimes the right idea just pops up at the right time and I'm hoping this is one of them! But even if not, they'll sell eventually anyway. Hardup Hester, doing a monthly craft/vintage market is quite a good way of selling craft goods (though I do the vintage stuff too, but some stallholders just do the handmade thing) as it's not as expensive as a craft fair, and there's a lot more passing trade, but without the pressure of a weekly pitch/stall. You do need PL insurance, though, but that needn't be expensive - £45 p.a. with one company, which is easily recoupable.
Off to deal with a poultry "emergency" now before they wake the entire neighbourhood... why do they always want to use the same nest box?!Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Morning All,
Happy New Year:j
Lazy lounging about day for us today, might read the paper and watch some movies. House is clean and tidy and decs away so feel like I deserve it. Also all washing is done, just needs putting away.
Tea will be something easy with chicken breasts.
Had a nice evening with friends and she made a fab thai curry. We had fireworks at midnight and were home for 12.45.
DS2 was out clubbing and woke me up staggering in at 3ish so got up to the loo and found DS3 still up and on the laptop so shouted at him and told him to get to sleep:mad: so I know how you feel Doelani.
Tru we have had our share of weird exes in this house as well, finally the eldest 2 seem to be settled with nice partners just 2 to go:D hope your son is ok.
Just fancy weetabix this morning. This is going to be my year for getting to my goal weight, Australia is not ready for my body on the beach in its current state:rotfl:have a good day all J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
