  • hmmmm mrtyo I dont remember any kicking happening!! ;) plus you are a faster runner than me so Id never catch you! :rotfl:
mrtyo especially is doing very well on the health kick (and is being fed I promise!) but as its countdown till the-day-that-comes-every-year-in-december I am also trying to be healthy!
We have done pretty well savings wise this year am going to add up december-december to see the grand total but trying to not spend money on rubbish so we shall see how we go!

better head to work if I want to pay this mortgage off and feed poor old mrtyo! :rotfl:
have a good day all x
  • Morning all!
Health kick has gone slightly down the pan due to colds and the rain outside making exercise a distant memory! shall get back on it next week tho as feel much better for it!

    In moneysaving news:
.£1500 into savings between us now payday has come and gone!

.Usual monthly mortgage payment made plus £400ish OP

.I have been printing away so hoping to get some coupon bargains over the weekend- then must stop shopping as nowhere to put it! still going ok with the £400 till xmas challenge which averages out at £100 p/m as started beg of september so hopefull that will get food spending down/on track a bit more!

.£50 on tcb and £110 expenses to come plus some money from my brother at some point! Will count all that as bonus and either into house or xmas fund!

.Also need to sort out pension, I pay into one but am thinking whether its worth upping contributions to the maximum % so work will match it ... thatll be a rainy sunday afternoon reading with a cuppa job I think!

No other major plans, will be trying to get some painting done over the next couple of months (wonder if that counts as exercise?...:rotfl:) and trying to keep warm if this weeks weather is anything to go by!

Have a good day all x
  • Ps Mrtyo is being well looked after I have stocked up and baked lots of nice food for him this week ... :rotfl:

Hey tyo :) well done on the op :T have you thought about doing the couch to 5k challenge? That might help you in your health efforts (notice avoidance of any kicking implications there... ;) lol)
Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.
    MFW 2020: 1 Jan £92903.90 ~ OP £536.80/£500
    MFW 2021: 1 Jan £89281.21 ~ OP £404.62/£500
    MFW 2022: 1 Jan £85579.20 ~ OPs on hold.
  • Hey coldcazzie

    Afternoon all!
Just spending a bit of time catching up on diaries feels like I havent updated for a while!
Going to be a tight month till payday due to some time away visiting friends, car tax and a couple of birthdays in the next few weeks! lovely time tho so shouldnt complain! ;)

    In moneysaving news:

*Have £41 from tcb to come which I am hoping should be through by the end of next month at the latest - it can go towards last minute xmas pressies!

*Still on track with my £400 till xmas food budget which if I manage it will have worked out around £100 p/month! may need to eek out the meat we have a bit to manage but sure it can be done! Have managed bacon and mushroom sarnies and casserole for dinner today which should do another couple of days I reckon!

*Few freebies/cheap things lately including 50p off kit kat coupons (cant find link but its on the "eating out of the freezer" thread and you like a facebook page of nestles!) , free woman and home magazine, and 2 packs of mccain roast potatoes for 50p each! Am trying especially to supplement food shops with coupons to get the most for my money!

*Deposit fund looking good - will have to sit down at some point and figure out how much we have saved this year as its all gone into different "pots" since the house sale.

    * have had a general sort out of paperwork and clothes so feel more "clutter free" - also found and got to grips with pension stuff and will be upping my contributions to work pension to maximum I can pay as it seems to be most efficient way of saving as employer pays double what I do at the moment!! retirement seems a loooooong way off but I know I should be sensible in planning for it now rather than later!

not much else to report- am still feeding mrtyo and we are going to get back on the exercise/health kick this week! Work and life is mental for the next few months so exercise to destress will help ... just need to stick to it!! :rotfl:
  • Morning all!
Just a quick update this week have managed:
    *£11.61 tcb payout
    * £12 of meat last night in supermarket reduced to £1.70 :)
*Freezer and cupboard inventory done now just to meal plan to make sure I can fit all the food I have in the freezer before it goes off and eek out the shopping budget to make my £400 target!
*Payday this week so aiming for around £750 into deposit fund!
    *Mrtyos mortgage now under £103K

    Need to do:
*check mobile phone contract to see if there is a better deal- I was on a fab deal but bills are creeping up with "hidden" charges so gonna sort that!
*hunt for any dvds/books to get chucked on amazon!

Plan for today is Im going to drag mrtyo out of bed to go running in a minute (hahahaha Im evil I know! :rotfl:) then come home and make him a bacon sarnie as a reward! Then we need to declutter in prep for some DIY-ing which will likely take most of this afternoon!

    Have a great sunday all!

    :T yay, soon be 5 figures :T.

Thanks gg!! Yes cant wait for an under 5 figure mortgage!! (until the next one of course!) We have done pretty well this year I think and dont feel we have been frivolous/wasteful but neither have we missed out on things - good balance I think!

    In Moneysaving news today:

*Payday! woop!! :) signature updated as to where we currently stand! bit of an expensive month due to car tax, various birthdays etc.. so not as much saved as per usual!

    * Incoming in the next few weeks : £30.30 from tcb, £70 from MS, £135 expenses - total £235.30 - not bad for free(ish) money!

    * food shopping still (just) under budget - due to my bargains last week I shall be making lots of casseroles to see us through till december I think! yum yum! Got a delivery next week to stock up on meat/veg etc and then it is strictly eating up what is already in the house ( so by december it may be some strange old combinations!!) I think we have become much better at this too (poor old mrtyo is probabaly just grateful to be fed and will eat anything *sob* :rotfl:)

No other real moneysaving plans , we have been doing a bit of decluttering too so house looks about 5 times bigger than it did!! may go round with a box at the weekend to see if anything amazon/ebayable but not sure I can be bothered with the faff so it may go to charity ( bless me :money:for I have sinned for not trying to sell things first!)

Am SOOOOOO glad it s Friday !! Have a lovely day all and just think only a few more hours (or 9!) till the weekend!!

When do you think you will be under the £100K barrier, we could have a race think we are around £108K

Think I will ask BF if he got paid today, then ask him to log into the mortgage account (insert evil laugh)

And yes finally it is the weekend :T
