  • Evening! ;)
    Hope all are well
Not much to report - payday this week so this has meant £790 into house fund , also starting to save for a new (to me) car , hopefully not quite yet but dont want to be caught out!

Did a lidl shop last week and was very impressed with the quality - aiming for £100 grocery spend this month and using up the freezer/cupboards!

May have ordered takeaway the other nite :( but found a good deal and made it last 2 dinners!:A

Should have a cheapish month going to try and stick to spending fun money limit too! .. famous last words...! Gonna go back and check at some point how much I have saved since starting the challenge a couple of yrs ago! ...:D
  • Morning all!
Its been a while since I updated but not an awful lot happening moneywise ... just under 2 weeks till payday and this is always danger time of the month where Im running out of money but tempted to keep spending anyway!!

    In MF news:
*have done an online shop for slightly before payday (but with next months budget) am hoping this will keep me from impulse buying when I pop to the shops for "just milk" and mrtyo did an impressive shop the other night, so am hoping we can eat from freezer and cupboards combining these 2 with little need for anything else! keep saying Im going to defrost freezer so gonna attempt it at the weekend! Food shopping goal for next month (ie. end July-end August) £150 - I WILL stick to my budget for one month if it kills me!! :rotfl:

*£80 expenses into house fund last week and around £100 to come in the next couple of weeks, have been spending more on petrol but using a couple of 5p off vouchers (which only take around £1.50 of a full tank- always thought itd be more! then again every little helps and all that!)

    * cut up and froze all sorry looking veg in the house and planning on making soup this weekend (soup in july:eek::eek:- what is the world coming to?!)

Not much else going on - need to declutter again and whilst doing so will check if there is anything to add to the amazon/ebay/charity box!

Also need to look through pension - I pay into one but gonna try and do the maths whether it is more worth my while upping the contributions (therefore giving less disposable income but if I dont have it I cant spend it!)

Big push for me (and mtryo cos I am gonna make him help me stick to it! :D) is health over the next month or 2. I have 2 friends weddings in late summer and a size 10 dress which currently does up if I remove a rib and/or dont breathe all day!
My aim is to lose around 10lb (I have been saying this for over a year now mind you!) so that breathing is possible and no surgery is required in order to fit into said dress!!

In order to do this am trying to only stick to healthy meals with one "treat" (probably chocolate!) a day , also have paid £15 for a fitness class which does around 10-12 sessions for the £15 so very good value (as long as I go!)

So commitment is not to waste money not going and also spend less on junk food/snacks as I wont be eating them! :D

Just seen the time - best get off to work otherwise none of my other moneymaking plans will have much effect!

Oooh thanks for reminding me, TYO. I have leeks in my fridge and need to make soup with them before they get past their best.

Glad to hear things are going well for you both.
    Starting again 13/4/19
    Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99
    Total owed: £28,801.49
  • Thanks Lois ;)
Soup is yummy, one batch for tonight and tomorrow and 2 tubs in the freezer!
Hoping to stick with £150 food shopping for this month!
Gonna have a hunt on the freebies thread to see if anything interesting or any couponing I could do!
Other than that not much else on the moneysaving front till payday! :)
  • Evenin all! :)
    Hope everyone is well!
In MF news didnt manager £150 grocery challenge, tho have stocked up and less buying lunches! Trying to stick to £165 for next month as never seem to manage my £150 challenge! Got a few reduced pieces today and slowly eating my way through the freezer (which I managed to defrost the other day! :rotfl:)

    Have also managed this month:
    £15 off grocery shop vouchers
£5 vouchers and £4 cheque recieved
£31 from amazon sale (must post this!! ;))
£1000 into house fund this month! :)

Plan to look at pensions to see whether it is worth me upping my contribution (as work match it I think and before tax) just worrying thinking whether Im putting money away which could "dissapear" if the pension fund collapsed or something ... will do some research!!

Just sucumbed to a takeaway for tea am tired after a manic couple of weeks so feel its well deserved!
  • Mornin all!
    in MF news:
    * £31 from amazon sale
    *£5 halifax reward
*lots decluttered to charity shop (ok not actually moneymaking but feel good Ive done it!)

Work is mental for the next 6/8 weeks but should all calm down after that, may use some extra money for a few treats/days out to keep me sane in the middle of it all! :rotfl:

and at least its Friday! yay!

Still on a "use up cupboards and freezer before buying more stuff" mission! ;)
  • Afternoon all!!
Just chilling after a busy busy week and weekend so catching up with a few diaries
    In MF news lately...
*£20.5 to come from tcb/amazon sales.

    *Free graze box ordered!
    * Hoping to hit 10% deposit target next payday!
*some mystery shopping work coming my way too hoping for a bit of extra spending from that!

Thats about all ... been doing some baking today but trying to resist eating it! :rotfl:

That's a fab amount of interest! You'll have that 'forever home' before you know it.
