I was going to suggest that you would be able to get cheaper life insurance, we pay £11 ish for a similar amount of cover. We've spent loads on food too, not sure how but we have run out of money so we must have!

I've just switched over to FD and am looking forward to being up and running with them.

Katsu is pretty good with breakdown company prices and can probably recommend some good deals. I'm with AA and at renewal they are pretty good at price matching.
    Apr 2024 - part 1 - £30,337 part 2 - £24,811 Total - £55,148 43 months to go!

Need to check out breakdown ins too - I think I remember autoaid being mentioned at some point... will get onto it all tomorrow with a cuppa ;)

Crikey. As long as it's not 'finish off Mr tyo for life ins' then I suppose that's ok :rotfl:

    Evening all!!

Long time no post for me! ;)
Have been busy spending a bit too much so far since payday! .... mostly on rubbish like cans of drink, chocolate (not good for the diet!) and magazines!!
Need to reign it in now!

Have had £44 from tcb through and off out for some cheap (with vouchers) entertainment this weekend!

Managed some freebies- a dettol handwash and 2 choc bars in amongst all the spending tho! :rotfl:

£50 to last me the next few weeks for socialising etc.. but should be ok as a few lunches out with friends which can be cheap n cheerful ,,

not many other savings I dont think but need to keep an eye on frittering away of "fun" money which I seem to be spending on rubbish rather than "fun" at the moment! :rotfl:

Hope everybody is having a happy Friday

    Mornin all!
Bit of a spendy weekend and now have under a tenner to last me the next 20 days till payday!! oooops!! still nothing costly planned, coffees and a couple of dinners at friends (will take some chocs from the cupboard as offerings!)
Now just to figure out where all the money went.... since xmas it seems to be burning a hole in my pocket as soon as I get it!! :rotfl:

Food shopping going well under £150 for the month when I add up whats spent on actual food (rather than all the other things that appear in the basket when I hit a supermarket! :rotfl:) Am gonna attempt next months at aldi/lidl to see how much cheaper!

Gonna add up how much Ive made on tcb and amazon since starting my MF quest - think tcb stood at over £100 which isnt bad for things I have used/would have bought anyway!

Other than that plan is to stay frugal till payday and be much better at balancing the books next month! :rotfl:

    Morning all!
cant believe the weekend went so quick!
Been busy moneymaking/saving in the background and its payday week too so hoping for a decent-ish lump sum to the house fund!!
So far this month I have

    *Made £20 on amazon
    *Claimed expenses (over £100!!)
*Got life ins to under £10 :T
*Ordered some shopping with a £7.50 0ff voucher and will top up at Lidl/aldi as needed (must go on a "use up storecupboard" mission from now on tho!)

*applied for some freebies (coffee arrived the other day, waiting for aero chocolate ... mmmm...)

*have also been putting loose change into a pot (one of the ones you need to smash to get it out again so being very controlled and not doing any smashing half way thru!!)

*Have some cinema tickets from clubcard so may take mrtyo on a date :D (but not to see woman in black as its apparently jump out of your seat scary!!:eek::eek:)

Also worked out that since starting this MF quest I have made:
£236 from amazon sales (having sold most of what I could find in the house!!)
    £103 from tcb
    £150 from switching banks!

Not bad all for free money!

    Tasks for next month:

*Sort out decent savings/ISA for the year to come..

    *find cheap/decent garage for MOT

    *Siphon off summer holiday fund!

I saw the stage play and nearly wet myself :o. So did DD - she has now bought book on Kindle but is building up to reading it, only when someone else is in the house :rotfl:.

    Great amazon sales :T

    Thanks gg :)
Nothing left really to sell on amazon now- I have a few box sets but they are trashy ones I can re-watch if nothing on on a sunday, or something so am keeping them!

Yes I think I would be the same as your DD Im scared even thinking about the book ... worse than films as all you have is your imagination! :rotfl:

got a few reduced bits (bread/cereal) to top up shop - have to make sure mrtyo doesnt open freezer other wise he might get hit by falling whoopsies! :rotfl:
