We had a fish and chips take away last night at my DDs as a treat for my birthday (I love it but rarely bother just for myself )and she said there is some left over beef from sunday if you want to take it home for a cottage pie mum I am just about to whizz it up in my food mixer and make some to go into my freezerI have carrots and onions and some chopped mushrooms in the freezer which I will use in it.I think I will probably get about 4 portions for me to freeze tonight so thats four free dinners for the future.Nothing wasted ( not enough for DD as she has 7 in her family so Mum gets to be a winner):):)0

I had some roasties left over from Sunday and as there was just me tonight I decided to fry those with some mushrooms and have a hot pepper sauce on the side.
I feel rough so couldnt really be bothered to be too adventurous.
I do have a very sad looking piece of brocolli and some blue cheese in the fridge.0 -
Broccoli and blue cheese soup?0

Have turned rest of soup (which as you may remember was left over chopped veg from Monday's diy pizza session and a carton of pasatta) into sweet and sour by adding prawns, small tin of pineapple, vinegar, sugar and (as per student cook book) chopped up cucumber. Gold fish, eat your heart out! Had half with rice, tomoz will finish up with noodles for lunch. Now drinking 3/4 bottle cider, having saved 1/4 for baking salmon in tomorrow evening. :T for this thread.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

The problem is I really dont fancy soup. I did think aout some kind of pasta type dish. Can you freeze pasta as my meals this week are already taken care of.
I spotted the sad looking thing lurking at the back of the fridge and the cheese, well, it is made of mould so will be fine.0 -

Yeah, cook your pasta as per instructions and...
Drop of (olive) oil in a pan and gently fry the broc with salt, pepper, dash of chilli - maybe a bit of chopped onion or other veg for about three minutes. Add the crumbled cheese for a couple more minutes.
Drain the pasta, add the veg... enjoyHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Hi
Dont worry, its not ignorance - not many folk would know unless they're regular bakers .... An old fashioned 1lb loaf tin typically measures (6 x 3¾ x 2¾ inches/15 x 9.5 x 7 cm)
HTH Have fun! Let us know how it turns out?
