I'm a hairy beast and am also unimpressed by cucumber. Whenever I went out for a meal with side salad, before I knew this I'd set the stuff aside. After reading this I used to save it to bring home for the fish.

Sounds like pasta sauce. Cook and blend-then add chopped sausages if wanted. few herbs.

I picked up a load of sausages the other day that were reduced, so that will sort two dilemmas in one go

Bought some 59p blueberries from Aldi last week and stupidly forgot about them - got them out a couple of days ago looking very sorry for themselves, too mushy to eat on their own (for me anyway) so instead of throwing them out like I would of in the past I mashed them up fully and put them with some Morrisons 'm savers' vanilla ice cream .... was lovely!!!!

I found some yellow fin tuna steaks at the back of the freezer the other day - I am sure it is about 2 yrs old. Do you think it will be OK to eat?

If you're still stuck for ideas for a cucumber, why not making a tzatziki dip? It's so yummy. It doesn't matter if you grate or blend the cucumber, as long as you get rid of most of the juices afterwards. Try this recipe: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/tzatziki_13049

or - make a pesto with the spinach, chop and freeze the tomatoes for a stock, and chop & lightly blanch the celery and freeze ready for a stew...
