I have two jackets I wear a lot, a winterone, Lands end so quite expensive (but in the sale) and a tesco cheapie mac for rainy summer days ...
Now my (70 odd) year old mother has bought the same ones, the same shade of red in my winter jacket and the same flower pink as my summer mac. (she also bought the same one to give to her friend!)
Is it wrong that I really want a new coat? That she never sees, just so that I dont end up as my mums twin? LOL!

This reminds me of all the years I have had to stop the bickering and cat fights between my 3 DD's - each of them have over the years lost the plot with each of their sisters as they copied each others sense of fashion - now all three have similar tastes they just have different slants on it and help each other other out (but still cat fights when certain pieces go missing from their wardrobes)
But just after Xmas the eldest and youngest actually bought the same winter coat from different Tpshps in the sale without each other knowing - they accepted that both looked great in it,neither would give it up, they just check with each other if we ever all go out together - which is rare anyway!:rotfl:
Spend to declare here too!
Birthday trip to York yesterday as DD1 took me to Bett** to afternoon birthday tea - but we also popped into a vintage clothes fair and walked the city (clothes shops rather than the walls!)
Anyway have bought a black velvet sleeveless topped and cotton skirted dress from a boutique called Y*mmi in the sale. Really pretty satin embroidered cherry blossom branches and birds weaving up the skirt in pale pinks, creams, browns and blues. could add little sparkly cardie for evening or dress it down with black jumper
Now normally I buy a medium size but this was small and on my Dd approval I did buy it as for once she said it "actually fits round the top as I always buy baggy" - and she should know she is deft hand at sewing (costume design) ...but am having reservations now as when I tried it back on at home , it did feel tight up top but I do love it .....probably it was all the tea and cakes I had in the afternoon:o
oh and price.............nearly forgot! £16.99 reduced from £70

Adela31 I agree with mishmogs and tracey, you absolutely have my permission to get a new coat - and I'd go further and say CS the others! It doesn't matter how old you are, it's clearly not on to be wearing the same as your mum! Mine used to do this with specs  Have fun choosing your new coat

soooo much to catch up, work has gone mad, i do have progress to update, I went shopping on Saturday with a friend for something she desperately wanted, and time to get the bunting out and party i bought absolutely nothing, despite trying on about a million pairs of shoes while she was in changing rooms various.... happy with myself for that anyway, but did see a few things i quite fancy but they can wait a bit see if i really want them.
I have managed to get a pair of brand new ugg type boots for nothing, someone bought the wrong size and couldn't change them for some reason, so free shoes does that mean I can add back on what they would have cost???? :rotfl::rotfl:
Have a good week peeps, hopefully I will be able to catch up this week,

Shopping this weekend was limited to electricals - so no spends for me!
Adela - I wanted a new coat myself but have failed to find any good bargains. Hope you succeed if you do look! If not you'll have to take both coats when you go out with your Mum and wear whichever she's not!!

Well I made it all the way to the middle of February before my first purchase of the year! £7.50 in Primark for a black vest top, some tights and a headband. All because I forgot the aforementioned items in my panic at packing to visit my OH for valentines! The dress I'm wearing...well you need a cami or something underneath it otherwise it's not decent for public viewing! I did see a few other things I could have picked up but I resisted. Just like I'm resisting any more jeans, when my current ones are way to big for me, I'm using a belt until I've lost a bit more weight to justify going the next size down!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

ARGH! i have just washed my fav jumper and it's come out of the wash with what looks like a bleach mark down the front  I have no idea where it's come from as I don't use any bleach or anything like that in the wash - it's a fine wool mix, could it have been my washing liquid?
I'm loathed to throw it away as I love it - it's a really light grey/cream with flecks of red, blue and green in it.
Would it be possible to dye it and if I did, would the flecks also dye? Help! i'm super miffed about thisFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

...ok, things might not be as bad as first thought - I've rewashed my jumper and it seems (although it's still wet) that whatever it was, wasn't a bleach mark and seems (please keep fingers, toes and anything else crossed) to have come out - I'm wondering whether (since it was initally on a 30 degree wool wash) that it might have been laundry liquid that hadn't washed out....at least that's what i'm hoping (esp as it was purchased in Canada and not so easy to replace)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
