The Completely Crazy 2012 Clothes Challenge

I'm glad I'm doing this challenge though as I am having to think before I buy. The fact I've spent nearly half my budget 6 or 7 weeks into the year tells me I have spent too much for too long. Unfortunately I don't really like cheap clothes anymore, but I'm just going to have to force myself to wait for the sales later in the year *sits on hands*
... and even if I buy I carry on thinking! I've just taken my two pairs of jeans back to Monsoon and bought two from Dorothy Perkins instead. Have now spent £25 instead of £90! I love Monsoon but, like you, I'm going to try to hold on till the sales.0 -
I went to town yesterday hoping to get a few new bits and bobs but ended up getting nothing. It was way too cold to look at summer clothes.VSP member #250

Yes...I dug mine out today, worked at the Stadium and even though milder I was freezing, only just starting to feel my toes again!
Returned another £21 of stuff yesterday, not sure about 2 other tops at mo! But have returned 2/3 of my spends..shows I didn't need it! Slowly sorting my clothes, drawers done, wardrobe next.0 -
Got through another weekend without spending anything! It's been, oh weeks, since I bought clothes! Must make it to the end of the month.
Had a freedom day today and wore a chunky grey cardi I normally wear instead of a jacket in the summer over a long sleeved T. Won't be doing that again since I couldn't move my arms when I put my coat on on top of it! I tried at least.
It is my aim this week to wear a skirt and tights to work at least one day this week. I have 2 black cord skirts and a denim one I could be wearing instead of my jeans every day.No more buying unnecessary toiletries 2018

I have a near-buying incident to report -
I actually had some M&S knickers in my hand, pack of 5 reduced from £8 to £4. On the way to the till I realised I have at least a dozen pairs of M&S knickers already so I put them back :T
It may not seem like much but I'mcos previously I wouldn't have thought twice about buying them. I couldn't even tell you what colur or pattern they were so it shows I didn't really look, it was a complete whim.
Spent all weekend in thermals too, so no more freedom days yet. I wonder if I should go mad and try wearing a skirt to work? Trouble is they don't really go with safety boots :rotfl: so maybe I'll stick to jeans!
Keep warm everyone

I have two jackets I wear a lot, a winterone, Lands end so quite expensive (but in the sale) and a tesco cheapie mac for rainy summer days ...
Now my (70 odd) year old mother has bought the same ones, the same shade of red in my winter jacket and the same flower pink as my summer mac. (she also bought the same one to give to her friend!)
Is it wrong that I really want a new coat? That she never sees, just so that I dont end up as my mums twin? LOL!0 -

I think it is perfectly normal that you do not want to be your mums twin. If it were me I would be on the lookout for a different coat to buy.VSP member #250
