Morning all! Still resisting temptation to flick through the catalogues that keep popping through the letterbox AND I avoided the clothes aisle in Mr A's last night. Everhopeful, I have days like that, usually my fat days, when nothing looks nice on me. Try mixing and matching different items together, it's too easy to get into a rut and always wear the same things together. I'm waiting for spring when I can start wearing the 4 pairs of white pants hiding in my wardrobe though hopefully I'll have lost so much weight by then, they won't fit. Oh! but then I'll need to buy new clothes...

put a LA red knitted jkt in the online basket yesterday but the thought od paying £5 for a £30 item even with quidco make sme annoyed:mad:why do some firms give free post and returns, some free post but you pay for returns and some charge twice as much post as others??????It really does put me off/helps me avoid spending!!!

off to loch Fyne tomorrow for my birthday meal(from near Christmas as everywhere full of office do,s then)hopeing for dry /warmish weather so can dress up a bit,did waer my new Phase eight jkt yesterday and lovely and warm it was too:)

I bought some french connection flats in the kurt geiger sale on christmas day, i really love them so now they're further reduced in the sale i want to get another pair, you know, for when this pair wears out...

Then i thought if i spend another £31 i can use the £20 off £50 code...

So found a pair of smart heels and added that to the basket, total inc delivery £42:eek:

so i did the mse thing and didn't check out yet, i'll sleep on it. I made a plan that if i sell £42 worth of clothes online then i can have them, and you know how difficult it is to shift anything! Anyway i've gone off the second pair and as for the first pair, I checked the website just now, and it's now OOS, wahey! lol obviously not meant to be
  • Went to the staff sale earlier today - normally I would spend a small fortune on myself for clothes - say £40 but walk out with 10 times the value. Today a single tunic for summer - very vintage like and from the summer range so happy with my £5 spend. That brings my total spend to £7.40. I did spend on my son though - mind you £25 for a suit and £4 for a satchel is worth it... the suit alone is work well over £200!

I am finding loads to wear in my wardrobe and being quite creative with mixing and matching items. For me the bigger picture is that we aim to buy a house at the end of the year so spending is severly restricted. Even now I am sitting wondering if I spend £510 on a Franklin Covey development course or not - I am thinking not right now!
Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

  • Quite agree with the post above saying they would like to be able to press a button and thank all these posts.

I would like to say thank you to everyone on this thread for being so nice! I was a very long time lurker on this site - didn't post as there seemed to be a fair few unpleasant and unnecessary postings. The reason I eventually registered was due to the offensive rubbish that a stay at home mum was saying about working mothers that I had to respond to.

As far as I am concerned I probably don't agree with lots of you on lots of issues but each to their own and no need to be rude (unless someone insults me first in which case gloves off!)

So thanks again that there are no insults or snide comments flying around this thread!

As to the clothes challenge itself, I have just had a refund of £16 from something I bought at the end of last year. Thought about adding it to my sum but decided to be virtuous and keep to the original £100. Managed not to spend any so far which I am quite pleased with.

Must admit, everyone on this challenge is really friendly & supportive and always have been - don't think I have ever read a horrible post on here.

We are all different - in ages, sizes, budgets, ideas, fashion sense, home situations etc which is great, but we all have one thing in common - to succeed in completing this crazy clothes challenge!

    And we will :)

Was very good today and re-hemmed a pair of black work type trousers passed up by DD1 while waiting for the gas man to appear!

And I have ordered the spare parts needed for my sewing machine - not that I am very good using one but I need to learn!
