Hey everyone,
Bought ds some shoes today but am not counting them in the clothes challenge. However I wanted to report what a brilliant bargain they were £1.99 for some fleecy lined crocs in l!dl. He lives in them and these will be great once the weather picks up a bit. Nothing else for me so far though.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Evening ladies

Well - I do have a spend to declare £39.50 on a gorgeous dress for my holidays from DP's perfect on holiday as its a gorgeous flower pattern but also with tights in the winter.
I however have been doing a fair few returns - and I do have my compensation money from my bank mess up which im not declaring - intending to use it for holiday shopping as i do need a couple of bits.
So I am going to go through my diary later - i have post stick notes in there for every 'clothes spend' I make and work out what exactly i've brought - what iv kept etc.
I had a bit of a 'lightbulb' moment in the shopping mall today - I was (sinning) and looking round for new stuff for my holiday but i realised it was stupid to do that until iv actually done a wardrobe stock check and work out exactly whats required.
I do need a pair of sandals - i broke mine in oct on holiday and my canvas shoes are too big as my feet swelled up and stretched them.
Howver, ive found a pair of shoes out that I brought to go to tenerife three years ago - wore once, but it was too hilly where i was stopping so didnt wear them, but they are perfect for an hotel based evening
Shall be back later to admit my sins to the lula religion!0 -

I think that is partly stopping me from shopping as well, I still haven't properly been through my wardrobe yet so am trying not to spend until a 'stock check' has been done (also the fact it's been so loooonnng since last pay day is helping
)
I bought a pair of sandals last summer in primark, they were gold with a toepost and diamonte strip up the foot that connected to an ankle strap - quite indian looking. I think they were about £6 and came in several colours (gold, black, tan, pink and one other I think). Although they are very flat so you need to moisturise your feet (otherwise I got cracked heels) they were sooooo comfy I wore them loads, everyone commented on them and the ankle strap meant they didn't go flying off like other sandals, nor make me work like a crow trying to curl my toes to keep them on. They've worn really well although if I see some more this year I'm going to invest in another pair ...whoops, there goes £6 allocated from my budget

Hi all,
Just popping by to say that so far I am still at my grand total of £1. Had a horrible near miss the other day when I managed to stack up a few 'bargains' in an online shopping basket but luckily my computer crashed! Just shows that having that little bit of time to consider an impulse purchase really does help

Lula-Hula I'd love to be an official member please! Can you put me down for £0 spend this year. I know it sounds unrealistic but I had my major wardrobe reshuffle last year when I lost weight so I really don't need to buy anything this year.
I've been a lurker for years and have only just been brave enough to post on this thread as it seemed so friendly!:)
Omg i'm totally cheering for you Antwacky, i know i could never do that in a million years lol

I resisted the sales in January but I did buy myself a new jumper for £14.99 and a pair of work boots for £19.99. Do not expect to buy anymore clothes in January, I don't really need or want anything more at the moment.
I have seen a lovely coat for £115 but do not want to buy anything too expensive until I lose weight and know it will last me longer.VSP member #250 -

Thanks immie! I know there will be times that I may want to buy something, but going through my wardrobe over Christmas for my final clearout made me realise how much money I have completely wasted over the years. I felt absolutely awful.
I could have been debt free by now if I hadn't been so spendy on clothes! LBM Feb 2005 - £36000:o DFD 28th May 2012

Good luck AntWacky, *Comes out in a cold sweat at the thought of being cold turkey* Not something I could do *Shudders* but I hope you manage it
an inspiration!!
Still havnt done my count up - but i dont think once my xmas money and compensation has been taken off I have spent that much.
Wohoo.
Did a HUGE clear out of clothes last night, literally got everything on my bed and did a 'keep and wear' or 'throw' clear out - and i managed quite a bit.
Pro points - I have found out loads of sun dresses - which now fit me
so thats a saving. I have also found out two pairs of flat sandals, im not crazy about them, as they are very worn, but if i cant find anymore i can tolerate them. Would love some more gem stone ones - i wore them a lot last year and mine are broken, but i cant really find any in the stores nevermind ones with some form of discount on them lol.
So potentially, i wont need to buy anything else for my holiday.
I cant however find my shorts.. anywhere. And i do live in them. So if i cant find them i may have to justify £16 in Debenhams (if they come in stock again!) and get some new ones.
Could also possibly do with a pair of cropped leggings £6 next. I know i could get them cheaper in primark, but i really don't like leggings anywhere but next.0 -
I've blown a fair bit of my budget this week, as a lot final reductions are kicking in at shops I love (French Connection and Phase Eight - aargh).
I ordered a few things from FC online but used some PayPal money I had from selling other items on eBay, so I'm not going to count that.
However I did buy a dress instore at FC which was £37, and ordered a Phase Eight cardi and jumper for £39.50 (they'd have been £110 full price), along with a lovely Gok Wan at Sainsburys kimono which was reduced to £15. This is adding on £91, taking me dangerously close to halfway point while we're still in January.
I may not keep both Phase Eight items as I've not received them yet, but that's not going to make a huge difference to my half-blown budget of £133.69/£300 :rotfl:
So my massive challenge now is to stay out of the shops for several months
. Thankfully so far the new season stuff isn't getting me too excited... 0
