  • THAT'S A LOT FOR £250 FAIRY!!

My local charity shops are all full of overpriced primark items - £4 for a vest top that would have been £2.50 new! Not had any successful charity shop buys even though I do look a lot!

I tried on my new clothes - bought yesterday - didn't bother in the shop - I know I am a size 14. I love them the top and the cardigan - feel so nice on. Don't get me wrong - I do buy from primarni but LA is usually far superior in quality - I can only afford to buy there if I am blessed to find the right things in the 70% sale. Likewise their fabric - I sew but can't afford LA prices except at sale time.

I used to get shoes from a market stall years ago when my children were small - often got a pair - different shades. I used - think it was called Tuxan - it was in a jar and came in all sorts of colours. It was a renovating shoe polish - I used it to hide the scuff marks on the children's shoes. I had 3 boys and 3 girls - one of the girls was SO hard on her shoes!

I needed a new work jumper, I was wearing my new (ish) lands end cardigan today and I really didnt want it covered in gravy and rice pudding but covered it was. So, cardi and two jumpers, £5 from Littlewoods lol. (Originally £35 for the three but I had rewards to cash in)

    THAT'S A LOT FOR £250 FAIRY!!

Yes I was hoping to just get new underwear and jeans for a few months but we have been invited on an activity weekend (hence the boots, jumper & jogging bottoms). Everything was in the sale apart from the jeans but I live in jeans and know these ones last (Matalan £10). They are replacing two pairs that I bought from there two years ago that are now sadly holey at the inner thigh lol.
Does anyone know where I can get some cheap wellie boot socks from as I were thermals but not long enough so when it rains my feet get soaked with wellies on still

Matalan have wellie socks in their sale keys..didn't catch how much they are reduced to though sorry

hi all well i caved and went to the clarks sale today and got my wee boy a pair of shoes in the next size, got my bigger boys a pair of sandals each for £3 and then i spent £2 in the chairty shop on a pair of canvas shoes for my youngest in the summer and a pair of jeans and a jumper for the bigger boys

i also spent £28 on jammies last night but they will be a gift for our youngest as it's elmo and the cookie monster and i've never have bought such expensive ones otherwise, thats us all sorted now except hubbys shoes (also a gift) until the kids need uniform which we will hopefully get an allowance for, just aswell as i'm just under half way into my budget so i will be reading but hopefully not posting for awhile

  • Morning all, just had a quick catchup over the last few days posts. No further spends to report since my little blow out last week! Feeling quite chuffed with that, not so chuffed that I havent managed to get rid of 4 things from my wardrobe yet though. Determined not to buy another thing until 4 items have left the house!

There was an earlier post on workwear with trainers. The train station nearest to my house is at the top of a steep hill, I either wore trainers or fit flops with my suits as it was just too much to manage in heels. My legs were very shapely after only a few weeks. (longing sighs). I have just started a 90 day fitness challenge to enable me to get back into some of the great clothes that I have but cant wear due to over indulgence in cake!

Keep up the good work all
    DM

Ooh thanks for that DM. I still haven't worn my shaper shoes.
Just waiting for the weather to improve a bit.
But the thought of shapely legs just a few weeks away should urge me onwards.:)

I was going to suggest Matalan as well - I bought some in there a few years ago and they're really comfy (wearing them now actually :rotfl:) failing that, Primark also do them I beleive.

Quick tip for anyone buying Dylon - no need to buy the Dylon branded salt that is sold with it, just use standard supermarket stuff - much cheaper.

I had a 'freedom' day today with a purple PrUna top I got in an outlet shop about 3 years ago. It's 3 sizes too big for me now and I was wearing a big cardi over the top, but I knew it had a day out today and that's all that matters! I just can't bear to part with it just yet. :)

Still no spendies for me...348 days to go!

    Spends to report

£12.50 on a new leather belt. quite a lot but couldn't find one anywhere else and didn't want a plastic one as the last one I had ripped after 2mths
£7 on purple jeggings in the sale
£5 on cashmillion white short sleeve jumper for spring
    Total - £24.50

Another loose purple top for £7 but I think this will go back as I'm not too keen on it - might keep it if it looks ok with grey jeans, blue and black jeans - will see
final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333
