I wonder if any of you lovely ladies (and any guys too of course ) can help me with some much needed advice please?I have a pair of shoes which i bought new and in a bit of a rush last year - i know, i know serves me right - well when i got them home and took out of box they are a different shade of brown :eek::eek: As in one shoe is lighter than the other
The codes on the shoes match each other and match the code on the box - can only assume one had been in daylight or something ? Anyways i got them for £7 reduced from £50 and i've not been able to wear them because of this
I have tried putting a shoe in the window to catch the sun but this hasn't helped
:o:o Not sure on if they can be dyed, type of dye to use etc. but i really want to rescue that precious £7 i spent if possible
Ooh and on another note - been listing a few bits on eb*y this week - lifting everything out of the wardrobe and really thinking about a) what suits me, b) is there anything similar that i'd choose to wear as a preference to this one - so get rid of item A, c) How often do i really wear this sort of item so do i need x number - all this has helped :T:T:T But OH was horrified that i was selling a top i got for an absolute bargain on hols last year - thing was i got 2 - and i prefer the other one so would always choose to wear this one instead - so i've listed my less favoured one on eb*y for the same price i paid so i'm not losing outBut OH was like 'no, no keep it, its great' 'Yes dear' i replied 'but there's all those clothes that don't fit in the wardrobe and will if i get rid of things like this' Bless him he was more upset than me. Did say i won't let it go for less than i paid though as its worth quite a lot more than that and i could always take it on hols where its ok if it gets sucream on etc. as i'll get my moneys worth out of wearing it whilst not ruining my favourite item

If you look on Eb*y Schuh sell shoes that have one pair faded all the time from being on display. It depends what fabric the shoes are made from if you could die them. I would give it a go or take it to a dance shoe store who dye shoes professionally for costumes, but not sure how much this would cost.
I am taking £1 spend back off my budget as 2 of the pairs of knickers I bought for myself were claimed by my DD.
Hi medsdemon - thank you for this advice - will check the material and may try a dye :cool:oldestgnome wrote: »Charity shops are a great way of finding some gems - it becomes addictive though! I can't walk past one without popping in for a quick look!:o
I'm still resisting buying anything and I've been "freeing" some clothes I haven't worn for ages and getting complimented on my new clothes :rotfl:so thank you for all the ideas and encouragement to spend less and maximise what I have
Its great that everyone thinks you've got new clothes oldestgnome - freedom days are fabJust popping in to declare a freedom day today, wore some black knee high boots which I bought about 10yrs ago from TK Maxx. No real reason why I don't wear them more than I do - they used to be my good 'going out' boots until I got my 'puss in boot' style ones from Dune a while back. Always have to turn the jeans I was wearing up with my normal boots so thought I'd go for something with a heel today (and a fleecy lining too). Been making good use of my 'new' Fatface jacket too - so glad I kept that!
kerri - did see you post about jacketsAnd woo! to those boots :j - I also have some things that i love and have had over 10 years - definitely got my moneys worth there

I was lured into LA by the 70% sale posters. I found five things I liked but managed to just buy two! I got a top for £8 - reduced from £28. I also got a cardigan for £9 - reduced from £32. These are such good prices - also the quality is great. Can you tell - I am trying to justify my splurge?

Morning all, just had a quick catchup over the last few days posts. No further spends to report since my little blow out last week! Feeling quite chuffed with that, not so chuffed that I havent managed to get rid of 4 things from my wardrobe yet though. Determined not to buy another thing until 4 items have left the house!
There was an earlier post on workwear with trainers. The train station nearest to my house is at the top of a steep hill, I either wore trainers or fit flops with my suits as it was just too much to manage in heels. My legs were very shapely after only a few weeks. (longing sighs). I have just started a 90 day fitness challenge to enable me to get back into some of the great clothes that I have but cant wear due to over indulgence in cake!
Keep up the good work all

Hellooo all!
Well I get nagged by my husband for not having enough clothes - really the reality is that I had a fair few that are too tight, I refuse to get rid of them cos "they'll fit me again one day" - so i'll make this day happen!!!
I have 3 stone to shift, so wish me luck!!
On the note of clothes etc, a lady at my work recommended a site called fabxchange.co.uk - I haven't really looked into it much but it seems a free swaps site??? May be too good to be true but do check it out!! :T
I plan on not buying clothes until I lose weight - but will keep you posted!
Happy 2012!! xx2012 is my year to battle my CC and get rid of as much as possible...£2.93 / £2917Here's to a brighter, less stressed future!0 -
My mum used to buy a leather shoe dye, it would have been dylon I am sure. I remember having a pair of navy shoes bought for a wedding dyed black for school0
-
I know that Dylon that has been mentioned used to sell alot in Wilkinsons for alot of purposes - like dying clothes and its not much money either and I think you get alot for your money
I am declaring that i bought my daughter a pack of Dune tights yesterday off the market costing £2 for x2 pairs
Also in the pound shop well needed wellie boot socks for taking the dog out with her ..So I will update in a min .
Does anyone know where I can get some cheap wellie boot socks from as I were thermals but not long enough so when it rains my feet get soaked with wellies on still??
I have x1 pair of Next combats to declare from the charity shop bought for £1
As for charity shops i never used to shop in them - now I cant keep away and find I can wear stuff and get complimented on / or buy something cheap that I like but not sure if the fitting / style suits me ...and I dont loose much money if I decide it doesnt - then you can sell on and normally get your money back if not more tooWhilst also gettin gteh joy of feeling like your wearing a different outfit
