Is there a good way to get the bobbly bits off jumpers? If I am going to be making my clothes last all year I would like to spruce them up a bit!

I've got one of the bobble gadgets which works well - about £1.20 from Wilkos, I wouldn't bother with a more expensive version :D

The other option is a handful of Sellotape (wound round your hand with the sticky on the outside - if you kind of make yourself a mitten with it, it makes things quicker than working with one strip).

    Hi Lula-Hula,

I'd like to join your challenge if I may. I did join in 2009 and 2010 and I did pretty well so I'd like to join again just to make sure I keep on the straight and narrow.

I'd like to set my budget at $100.00, but this is only for spending on clothes relating to work (for which I have yet to find a job). So, no job-so spend.

    Hello:wave:.

Am I too late to join this?? I have justreturned to work and gone down 2 dress sizes, but want to stay in control of my clothes spending which I think could get easily out of control:o. We want to do alot of different things this year so want to put money towards that instead.

I think a realistic budget for me might be £300.So please can I be put down for that. I can sew so I am hoping to alter some of my too big clothes to fit my new little me and sell any others to put towards buying "new" ones. I have a voucher left from Xmas to spend too for getting new exercise clothes. Normal clothes I am going to try to go back to boot sales as I used to be massively successful at dressing myself very well from there but have got out the habit. My biggest challenge may be clothing myself for my other challenge this year which is walking the West Highland Way. I have some gear but will need some more so possibly alot of the budget could go on this.

  • Can I join please? I have far too many clothes and they don't fit in my chest of drawers anymore! I reckon £120 should be more than enough, may see if I can nab my mum's sewing machine to alter things when I need them!

  • Sorry but I wont be joining afterall - this site isnt for me anmore, too many trolls here than there was 5 yrs ago. Good luck everyone.

Thanks Julytex, Kerri gt and RosaBernicia, I will try a couple of those options and see which works best :)

I had a look through my wardrobe and as long as we dont have a hot summer I should be sorted for clothes! Here's hoping for clouds and grey skies in 2012 :( Yuck!

Please count me in again Lula :)

I will go for £250 to include everything, as it is my sister's wedding in two weeks, and also because I want to buy a few dresses when I reach my target weight (need to lose over a stone.)

I bought my dress for the wedding yesterday from Debenhams for the bargainous price of £24 - it was already in the sale with a further 10% off (included in last year's total!) I still need to buy shoes, tights, bra, shrug and accessories to go with the dress, so I expect that little lot will cost me...
