Hi can I join in too? I used to do a lot of dressmaking but have really got out of the habit. I have a lot of unworn / unfitting clothes that I could model into something else but usually can't be bothered and end up spending money on new ones when I really shouldn't! - This might just help me sort myself out! I would like to set myself a really tight target of £75.00 for the year and see how I get on.Pay One Debt 2012! challenge #67 - £235.07 / £375.18 :T0

Is there a good way to get the bobbly bits off jumpers? If I am going to be making my clothes last all year I would like to spruce them up a bit!0

The hook side of velcro works really well if you have any, or a an old blunt razor. You can buy bobble removing gadgets but these work just as well and are free! (if you have them lying around).Pay One Debt 2012! challenge #67 - £235.07 / £375.18 :T0

Howdy all
I would like to join if I may? I have loads of clothes and need to work my way through the wardrobe. Most of my clothes are suits/smart work gear and some casual (made redundant a few months ago and enjoying being at home after working full time for 35 years!) so at a crossroads at the mo. Shall we say £700? I am 6' and find it difficult to buy clothes which fit so have to go to specialist retailers and they know how to charge! even buying tights is a challenge!!
Am going to enjoy this challenge after being able to spend what and when I like, this will be good for me to use Martins mantra, do I need it? can I afford it? will I use it? so more 'smart' clothes shopping thinking will be the order of the day.:jSPC Nbr.... 1484....£800 Saved £946 in 2013)

careful snipping with a pair of nail scissors works well, takes a bit of time and patience (and care) but works well.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Ok ladies - its the final 2 and a half hours of 2011 - but also the final 2 and a half hours of 'buying whatever i want' me - onwards and upwards.
I have £30 left from my boyfriend - he brought me something, i took it back cos it wasnt right, told me to keep the cash and buy when i see! lol. So debateing whether that counts as free money or whether its just starting the excuses on day one - which i dont want to do.
Also - i have a monsoon order and also a next order ready to recieve.
Its unlikely the next orders going to be much suitable looking at what ive ordered - but there is two potential items on the monsoon order adding up to £45 - which will be partly bf money. But i dont know whether it counts as this year for the other £15 or January....
Help?
Diary prepped - ready to be a 'new me'0 -
Hello & welcome to newcomers:
MOGGYMALONE, the_cat, km1977, julytex, mishmogs & oldtractor
Just one more hour to go ladies
Personally, I don't start the challenge until 1st January & have succesfully avoided all sales temptation so far - a quick trip to town today just reminded me how much I loathe being pushed & shoved just to buy stuff that didn't sell first time round
The only item I'm after is a red skinny belt & I haven't found one yet, so might have to try ebay in the next 50 minutes.

This sounds like a brilliant idea! I'm throwing myself and hubby wholeheartedly into MSE this year (saving for a house deposit). I buy most clothing/shoes in the sales or charity shops anyway but I am guilty of having far too many clothes and many I hardly wear. Can you put me down for 150? To those who mentioned using a sewing machine to update clothing, how would you do that? I should really use my machine more!0
