I have made a start by sorting through my drawers. I found 2 Jumpers and a couple of pairs of jeans that I had forgotten I had so having a freedom day today! I have a pile for mending, a pile for upcycling and a pile for the charity shop, so that's good. Next is the dreaded shoe cupboard so that should be interesting!

    Good morning to all,

Hello & welcome to newcomers destroyerofdebt, medsdemon, Pink_Giraffe, P.Whitaker & TraceyJ, I hope you all enjoy this challenge :)

Hello, welcome back & great to see you here again to Kerfuffle, Callisto & debbiedeejay :j

These ladies are Clothes Challenge veterans & highly succesful at it too :A take note of how they use their money wisely :D

I've been very luck to receive a £20 M&S giftcard & £135 in cash/cheques as gifts so this potentially stretches my meagre budget, but while I expect the M&S giftcard to get used, I will try my very best not to use the additional cash for clothes as I truly expect the £100 to be sufficient for me :).

Great to see how many of you are actually sorting through what you already possess rather than rushing out to buy more stuff in the sales.

Enjoy finding Freedom in your wardrobes :D
  • I had a lovely chat with my mom in South Africa last night. She has some amazing clothes which are coming back in fashion and after I told her about this challenge she offered to send me some of the things she no longer wears! Result! It's taken about 20 years to get my mitts on one of her dresses! Giggle
Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

I've just spent a bit of time thinking about what I need for essentials first of all

Socks - desperate for a new pack - will go to the outlet shop in a couple of weeks time for a look otherwise its primarni
Bra - think I might need resizing after losing some weight, mind you don't feel like I have now after Christmas!
A new leather belt - again will look in primarni, mataloubous and the outlet shop
2 new walking tops - again look in the outlet shop - have had the current ones for 10yrs+ and waiting for a decent deal to buy some more
Brown leather bag - will check out charity shops and outlet shops and then decide what I need and like before buying one. Trying to keep the budget as low as possible for this
New shrug/thin card in a bright colour - as above checking out the usual outlets plus sainsbugs

Budget for this - don't know yet but will try and keep it as low as possible and if can find a decent bag/belt cheap enough that will be a good result
final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333

hi can I join please? Can you put me down for £100 and I'm going to stick to it:) Am a size 18/20 at the mo. I have got rid of 12:eek: black binliners of clothes in the last 2 years alone. Whats the point in that? I know I go up and down in weight but thats a hell of a lot of clothes to get rid of. Please all help me to not buy clothes etc in 2012. Thank you Lula for creating this club. Best wishes to all and a Happy New Year:beer:

Well I'm on to confess I've been spending:o. Although they were all things I need and at good prices and a couple of the things are put away still in packing for when I need them and want something new to wear. In fact some of the things are almost cheaper than buying the equivalent in a charity shop.

I bought : Adida* Adiizero Trainers for my running challenge and zumba to replace my 10 year old NI*KE's £25.00.
Adida* Running long sleeve climawarm top to wear with my lovely gilet I got for christmas and will be incredibly useful for when I do the West Highland way and for our other walks £17.99
Adida* wicking top also for running or walking £9.00
Purple sweater Dress M&S outlet £8.99 that I had been eyeing up for a couple of months full price but resisted and I know this will be worn loads.
Chunky bead necklace that matches above dress 99p M&S outlet
T-shirt ready for summer £2.49 M&S outlet (will look good with my cropped denims or a denim skirt which I am planning to make and a white cardi I have had in my wardrobe for 2 years and hardly worn as I put weight on and it was too big till now:))
Pack of 5 knickers for £2.49 from M&S outlet as I have lots of quite coming to the end of their lives pants that will need replacing so these will be kept sealed till I deem them totally dead!!

All my buys won't date and will be used alot so I don't feel too guilty. No shopping though for january/february now at all if I want to keep on track but mostly when I'm at work I don't have time. I may slip up if a dress I have my eye on in Urban Outfitters gets reduced as it is perfect for a gig I am going to in March, but I'll deal with that if it happens.

One question- should we post photo's maybe of our outfits sometimes or our wardrobes. I'm so nosy and love looking at others clothes. My wardrobe is quite sparce as I've had a huge clearout, but I would love to show off if I feel I've made a really interesting outfit and not spent any/much money ??

i've been clearing out :) i decided to minimise so i have 4 bin bags of clothes to go to the charity shop, my clothes are too cheap to sell and hubbys are worn to death, i have 5 bin bags of ds but all he's belonged to our twins so are worn to death aswell not worth selling, but our local chairty shop does a 50p bin that they just throw well worn clothes into and you dig threw

it's hubbys birthday in a month and for the first xmas since i met him his mum didn't buy him shoes for xmas so i think i'll get him some the sports direct ebay shop so the kids have a gift to get him, we don't usually do birthday gifts as his birthday is 2 days after valentines day and mine is 6 days after our wedding aniversary we prefer to go for a nice meal but the kids are at an age now where they wanna give gifts, will try to keep it under £10's tho :money:
