£500 limit on clothes not including undies and shoes.....wide feet probs mean they cost a lot and bra size changes cannot be helped.
happy new year to all0 -
OMG ,just reading through and had forgotten all about freedom day clothes !
my tastes did change last year as was getting too mumsey so now do not buy Windsmoor/CC type stuff but more East/Kew/Phase eight....all still expensive But wait till the sales and fraction of full prices:)...was fed up with East as bought a sequin jacket at 30% off and within a week was 50% off and that was before the sales started:mad:....still I do love it and it is timeless so good cost per wear.0 -
Purple boots pinch
- no wonder they were left in TKMocks, I have really narrow feet and skinny legs but they're even too tight on me!
Never mind though - this means my 2011 total is back below the four figure barrierand I think my current boots might just last through til March
Also, I might be in need of exercise gear - so will have a little more flexibility for that.

Can I join too please?
I have 2 wardrobes and 2 chests of drawers full of lovely clothes and need to rein my spending in. There's nowhere to put anything else either:rotfl:
I prefer quality to quantity but haven't been particularly good at waiting for the sales in 2011 - I want this to change in 2012, and only buy what I need, which really is very little.
I'm going to set my budget for the year at £300 - I did wonder about trying to stick to £100 but I'm going to New York in May and just know I'll splurge on yet another pair of Uggs, so that'll eat up half the budget :eek:0 -
Can I join please ill go for £200 thats me OH and two kids wish me luck:)
Could spend this each week last year total overhaul in the spending and debt stakes.

I haven't been on for a few days but thankfully no spends to report :j I am having a semi freedom today, found a cardi in the wardrobe that I have not worn in aages and also wearing a new scarf which was a gift rom the OH for christmas. They match perfectly so very happy.
Thanks for this challenge as it i certainly making me look at what I own / wish to purchase in a new light. Thinking what matches / quality / need over desire .
I have to go to town tomorrow so will try and resist the clothes shops - bank and library only!! May have a mooch for a style book such as gok / trinny& susannah. I saw a gok one a while ago in a book shop but at the time I thought it was quite expensive, not sre if something like that may be a good investment?Crazy Clothes Challenge 2012 - £80.00 / £300 :hello:0 -
Evening all, glad to see everyone getting into their challenge. I have no spends to report, not been anywhere near a shop for days. I did pull on an old fave pair of jeans on saturday, which promptly ripped. It's a good job I have several other pairs! Even more determined to deal with the creeping inches as I edge into middle age.
I can totally relate to an earlier post from Rosemary54 who made reference to styles and taste changing last year. That certainly happened to me, and needed a new wardrobe to reflect my new palette. I guess I had better get used to it, it is here to stay for a while.
What are peoples opinions on style books and image consultants? I am averse to any kind of tv that uses humiliation tactics in order to prove a point. I am not a lover of fashion mags, but can see that they might have their uses to help us revamp our wardrobes without spending a fortune.

Darwins_mum - I do quite like watching the fashion shows like Trinny and Tranny etc but I certainly wouldn't think about purchasing their books tbh plus I dom't think the shows really reflect real life, yes, I have nice clothes in my wardrobe but I'm not giving up my comfy joggers to slob about the house in for 6" heels to wear on a daily basis for anyone. I can't really recall when I last bought a magazine - oh yes, Glamor last year for the Clinique samples lol! I know our library has a selection of magazines you can read there, and the internet is a mine of information too.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hiya, in regards to the GOK/trinny and suzanna books i actually think there not worth the money - i personally dont find them very useful additionally, i had a personal shopper experience earlier in the summer and some of the things she told me to try on?! common no nos, i.e she put a size 18girl in a clingy dress?! can anybody say back rack?! lol. In short, dont waste ur money, instruct that 'fashionable friend' to come and reek avack on ur wardrobe x0

Please can I join in this challenge?
I was already planning to spend as little as possible in 2012 but joining in a challenge and adding it to my signature does help me keep on track!
Could I be put down for £100 for the year please? It's an ambitious target but thats what a challenge is all about :rotfl:
(and if I spend more than that I might just quietly change my signature!)
The only thing I need to buy for is my brothers wedding in February, I already have a lovely new dress so might just need shoes and a jacket/cover up type thing. No more buying unnecessary toiletries 2018
