  • I am declaring a no spend April :j I did make some purchases in New Look but that was with birthday money so I'm not counting it!

It felt a bit wrong to be handing money over in a shop for clothes so this challenge is clearly helping me a lot!

All this talk of bras has made me start thinking about how old mine are getting and they could probably do with replacing. But I really hate trying them on, it's just the worst kind of clothes shopping. Think I will struggle on a while longer with mine (on the tightest hook because they have stretched :p)

Have a good weekend everyone and best of luck with the challenge.

Still chatting about bras, I feel that I should have an epithany moment where I suddenly realise i'm wearing the wrong size, try a new one and hey presto, marvelous knockers :D However, I think I actually am wearing the right size - no double boobage at the front, and when I had my chest measured for boot camp, it was 31.5inches, which would make me a 32 which I what I wear now. Getting some use out of the £19.50 I spent on the MnS Outlet one. Like the fact it's front fastening but still needs a little wearing in to make it 100% comfy (if that makes sense?)

Fell off the wagon a bit today, £11.99 in NL on two pairs of leggings (both of mine have gone a bit Nora Batty though), £4 on a tshirt in primarni, £22 on a pair of flat shoes from TKM (these might go back, can't decide if they are vintage chique or street urchin)

Oh....and on my major shoe hunt...have found a pair I do really like...but a budget busting £75 :eek: why is it every pair I find seems to be more expensive than the next? :o

I nearly made it through another month without spending on clothes. But i desperately needed a new pair of workout trousers and new bras.

So declaring £15 spent today on 1 pair of trousers, 1 bra and 2 vest tops.

So total up to now £28.49 spent/£71.51 remaining for the year.

  • Hello all,

Have much enjoyed reading all of your posts - this challenge is a lot of fun. I have to report a spend this week of £53. Have reported spend in my signature. Had been doing really well so far with a spend of only £20 for the year. However, I'm making a concerted effort to lose weight and that involves visting the gym three times per week and running at the weekend. I've been wearing t-shirts that are about 15 years old and are looking a wee bit shabby (that's not bad going though, getting that long out of them!) and the thread came out of one of the stripes on my running leggings in the wash so it is kind of hanging off, rendering my *ddidas leggings in danger of becoming *ddidas two stripes! I intend to fix the stripe but I figured getting another pair would lessen the burden on the poor things!

The total also includes a gym bag because I'm a bit embarassed taking my gym clothes to work in a *esco bag for life. It is very pretty and I'm sure I will enjoy using it so I will class that as a good spend.

I'm also eyeing up a couple of cardigans for the summer but I will hang off for now - I think I've used enough of my budget for one week!

    Have a good weekend everybody.

bras and shoes are the worst things in the world to try on as even when you finally get them to fit instore, once you get them home they have mysteriously changed size!!!

Hm, I don't get that so much with bras and shoes as with jeans. Somehow the ones that were fine in the shop either fall down or dig in once I get them home.

I am also still in boots and warm stuff which is sort of good in that I haven't had to buy sandals yet but bad in that I now have a whole pile of summer stuff that I got out and don't want to cram in the wardrobe because I can't take the winter stuff out yet...

Must be something in the air with this fitness thing as I've been doing a boot camp for the past two weeks. Am ok for bottoms atm, but my two vest tops are starting to become a bit worse for wear as they are the ones I use for pole.

Now i'm having a wee debate with myself about whether or not to include fitness related purchases in my spending. Its not something I'm likely to go overboard with buying and generally don't buy unless necessary, or I have a particular event for which I need an outfit, so I'm thinking I might record what I spend but exclude it from me total?
